#3: "Dope" (2017-) - Season 2
Netflix
Those who stumbled upon season 1 of this 2017 Netflix crime docuseries found a blunt, by-the-numbers show about drug trafficking and enforcement in the United States and Mexico. Admittedly the show is very dramatic, a little overproduced and 'cable TV', for those into easy to digest crime docs, "Dope" is pure Blue Sky. Following not only law enforcement officers, but drug users and dealers as well, you get the story from every angle, and with only a few self-contained episodes per season, this show should add a nice little 'bump' to your weekend.

#2: "Chef's Table Pastry" (2018-) - Season 1
Netflix
"Pastry" is a spin-off of Netflix's fantastic food documentary series "Chef's Table", which upped the anti for the genre, by making it as much about the individual chef's pride and ego as it was about the food. "Pastry" brings that same angle, flourish and all to the world of baked goods, and the results are delicious. Seriously, we knew Chefs were passionate about cooking, but we had no idea pastry chefs were equally enthusiastic, if not more so, and the creativity of these dainty dessert virtuosos is on full display.

#1: "The Dangerous Book for Boys" (2018-) - Season 1
Amazon Video
The original book this series is based on, "The Dangerous Book for Boys" is a best-selling guidebook made to teach boys, in a very overt and whimsical way, how to do things like fish, build tripwires and talk to girls. Maybe the fishing a tripwire skills can help with the last thing? The television series, produced by Bryan Cranston, is a meta series about a group of boys coming to terms with loss, who end up with a copy of the book itself, which then inspires fantasy and adventure. Acting like a bridge between the make-believe world and real life, "The Dangerous Book for Boys" TV series demonstrates a fantastic way to adapt a non-traditional best-selling book to television and is light, and easy to watch.
