#5: He’s Got A Soft Spot For In-N-Out Burger

As one of the world’s preeminent chefs, many might assume that Gordon Ramsay doesn’t indulge in the same kind of guilty pleasure foods as us “regular folk”. A quick snack? Caviar. Afternoon lunch? Kobe beef. Well, it turns out that the foul-mouthed host of “Hell’s Kitchen” has a penchant for In-N-Out Burger. The California-based burger chain has been a favorite of Ramsay’s for years. The chef wrote in a his Reddit AMA, “I always bring it back on the airport when I'm flying from LA to London, I'll sneak it into the first class lounge.” It’s nice to see that under all the glitz and glamour of celebrity, Ramsay is just like us… incapable of saying “no” to a good greasy cheeseburger.

#4: He Gives "MasterChef Junior" Contestants a Quick Lessons Before They Compete

If you’ve ever seen an episode of Gordon Ramsay’s hit television show “MasterChef Junior,” then you are aware that there is a sector of the world’s child population that just so happens to be insanely good at cooking. Of course, despite being in possession of culinary skills well beyond their years, they can’t be expected to know everything. During his Reddit AMA, Ramsay explained that before filming starts, he spends time with the young contestants, teaching them a number of basic cooking techniques. Some challenges even require the famous chef to provide instruction up to a month in advance. Who knew Ramsay could be such a sweetheart off-camera?

#3: He's Not Just Serious About Food, But Fitness Too

Eating right and staying fit go hand in hand. As such, it should come as no surprise that this star chef is also a major fitness freak! His taste for staying in shape developed early in life, when he fell in love with soccer as a young man. But sadly, his teenage dream of becoming a professional footballer was dashed after he suffered an unfortunate injury. He didn’t let a bit of bad luck stop him from remaining an active competitor, however. The well-known TV personality has participated in a number of different marathons over the years, including two Ironman World Championships. It remains a mystery how a man as busy as Ramsay finds any time to train!

#2: He is Among the Highest Paid Celebrities

Coming in at #34 on Forbes annual list of the world’s highest earning celebrities, Gordon Ramsay took in $54 million in 2016 alone! While that’s a staggering figure to most people, he used to rank higher. The previous year, he took 21st place with a cool $60 million. Ramsay’s immense wealth derives from his three hit TV shows - “Hell’s Kitchen”, “MasterChef” and “MasterChef Junior” – while also earning plenty of dough from his worldwide empire of 30 restaurants. If all that wasn’t enough, the talented chef even has his own mobile game, “Gordon Ramsay DASH”! Not bad for a kid from Johnstone, Renfrewshire, Scotland.

#1: He Once Had 12 Michelin Stars To His Name

Michelin, best known as one of the world’s leading tire manufacturers, has annually produced a guidebook that awards “Michelin Stars” to restaurants and hotels of exceptional quality. Gordon Ramsay is one of the world’s leaders when it comes to the number of Michelin Stars accrued, at one point topping the list with 12 of them. Ramsay has expressed a deep respect for the Michelin rating system, once quipping: “With a Michelin guide, you have no idea when they'll be in, or when they'll review you. And that's why they're the most feared and respected by chefs.” Thankfully, for Ramsay, he’s always maintained high standards of quality.
