#3: Will Smith to Play the Genie in Aladdin Remake

As Disney continues its surge to adapt their animated classics to live-action features, the production company is inching closer to casting an actor for the iconic role of Genie in Aladdin. According to Deadline, A-lister Will Smith is in talks with Disney to take over the role made famous by the late, great Robin Williams. Smith was also reportedly in talks to star in Tim Burton’s Dumbo remake, but discussions fell through. Directed by Guy Ritchie, the Aladdin remake will follow the major success of Disney’s latest live-action effort, Beauty and the Beast. Living up to the comedic prowess of Williams would prove difficult, but Smith can make people laugh, as proven in the MIB franchise and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Plus, Smith’s background in music could be beneficial if he does in fact end up taking the musical role.

#2: Nuns Gone Wild in The Little Hours Trailer

Chances are you’ve never seen nuns like this. Based on a story from the 14th century collection of novellas called The Decameron, The Little Hours dropped their first red band trailer putting a raunchy, unapologetic spin on the lives of nuns. The movie stars Aubrey Plaza and Alison Brie, who go against their vows when a young man - played by Dave Franco - takes refuge in their convent, unleashing the women’s desire for sex, drugs and debauchery. Initially tricking the audience that the film is about the wholesome ways of the Convent, the trailer quickly shifts gears with an absurd amount of profanity, with Fred Armisen recounting a ridiculous list of their inappropriate behavior. With a supporting cast of Molly Shannon, Jemima Kirke and Nick Offerman, The Little Hours has a cast and story with the potential to become a runaway hit.

Before we get to our final entry, here are a couple new releases:

“The Promise” (2017)
“Free Fire” (2017)

#1: Five Post-Credit Scenes in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Well, this is a handful! Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 director, James Gunn took to Twitter recently and let it be known that his highly anticipated sequel would feature not one, not two, but five post-credit scenes. That’s three more than usually found at the end of other Marvel films; one usually setting up a future movie, while another acts as a silly extra scene. News of the post-credit scenes began after the movie was shown to members of the press earlier this week, but details of the scenes and the movie were kept under wraps because of an embargo. However, according to Collider, three of the scenes are goofy while one offers more substantial information. Volume 2 has also made news this week after releasing its soundtrack, which includes tunes from Electric Light Orchestra, Cheap Trick and Fleetwood Mac.
