Remember Freedom Fries and Freedom Toast as part of the anti-French propoganda before the invasion of Iraq? Not the first time. Since the Frankfurter and Hamburger were named after German cities, anti-German propoganda rechristened them "Liberty Sausage" and "Liberty Sandwich"

Many things contributed to the huge cassualties Russia suffered during the war, but being ill equiped stands out the most. The Russian soldiers were so baddly equiped that many had to use sticks instead of rifles. Imagine charging the German machine gun nests with just sticks

The dreadnaught battleship was built by the British Royal Navy in 1908. Britian and Germany soon made a fleet with them. The only true clash between dreadnaughts in history occured at the Battle of Jutland. It was a draw. But along came aircraft carriers for WW II and dreadnaughts only played supporting roles
