Matt claimed that Amphibia was inspired by the video game Frogger and was originally titled Amphibiland. However, the name was already used in another show called Kulipari. Because of that, Matt renamed his show just to not get sued by the creator of Kulipari.

Braly said that Marcy & Sasha's parents never appeared physically on the show because the team was approaching max capacity when it came to characters and story elements to pay off. Unlike Anne with her parents, Marcy & Sasha didn't really need them for their stories and arcs to be satisfactory.

The "Calamity Trio" Was An Unofficial Nickname Coined By Fans

While most nicknames such as Darcy or Sprivy have been coined by the show's staff, Calamity was coined by the fans. Although their title was never spoken in the series, Matt Braly and the rest of the crew officially dupped them like that, taking inspiration from fans' nicknames for them.
