In a 4 car shootout to the finish, Brad Keselowski unintentionally turned Carl Edwards around, sending him airborne, collecting Ryan Newman, sending him even higher and into the catch fence and almost into the crowd as Keselowski crossed the finish line for his first career Sprint Cup victory.

In yet another classic Atlanta finish, Carl Edwards edged out Jimmie Johnson with a last lap pass to notch his first victory in the Sprint Cup Seies. Capping off his victory with his trademark backflip.

In the race dubbed "One Hot Night" Kyle petty and Davey Allison deuled in the final laps of the 1992 All Star race. In the final corner coming to the finish line, Petty turned Allison into the wall and ended up crashing him. Amazingly, Allison still won the race and celebratd his win that night in the hospital.

In one of the wildest finishes in the "Great American Race" Kevin Harvick beat Mark Martin by .02 seconds, meanwhile behind them, there was a huge wreck involving 10 cars, including Clint Bowyer who flipped over and crossed the finish line, upside down and on fire.

In only his 3rd career start, after replacing Dale Earnhadrt after his tragic death, Kevin Harvick a rookie edged eventual 2001 series champion Jeff Gordon in a photo finish for his first career victory in an emotional victory, starting the healing process for the mourning NASCAR community.

In a precursor of the 2000 Sprint Cup championship battle, Dale Earnhardt and Bobby Labonte battled in the final laps in the ATL. Earnhardt defeated Labonte by .003 of a second. Earnhardt won the battle in Atlanta, but Labonte won the war and captured the Championship crown in 2000.
