There was very little single player content and the roster was smaller and missing some characters. Thankfully, expansions, updates, and a story mode made the game feel more whole.

After the PR disaster with the game's microtransactions that border on extortion, EA backed off 5 months after launch... kinda. They overhauled the lootboxes so that they now only give out in-game currency. They also made all characters and vehicles available from the get-go (say for one Millennium Falcon skin).
