Here's a comparison: the last villain of DB, Picollo, barely destroyed a small city with his ultimate attack; the very first villain in DBZ, Raditz, is powerful enough to easily destroy a whole planet. And it keeps getting more and more absurd from here on out.

And then there's the Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, which is 52.8 billion light years tall, making it roughly 3 times larger than the observable universe. It's ultimate attack makes it spawn a drill that is dwarfing even that.

*from Gourmet World, whose CPLV measures in hundreds and thouands on average. Monsters that dwarf megacities are petite when compared to these behemoths, some may grow large enough to engulf the world, which is already several times our planet's size, and yes, we get to the level of each of them.

The starting point had Gon wrestle with a bear-sized fish, but they move on to moving several tons worth of weight, and this is all baby stuff compared to what the Chimera Ants are capable of.
