Top 10 Times the Chasers Got Humiliated The Chase

Welcome to WatchMojoUK, today we’re looking at the top 10 most embarrassing moments for the Chasers.
#10: Eden’s Solo Win
First on the list, it’s one of the biggest single-person wins in “The Chase” history. Despite only being 20 years old, Eden managed to get himself into the final, where he decimated the chaser. He managed to get a stunning 18 questions correct and was then pitted against The Menace. The Chaser didn’t do nearly as well as Eden, getting the second question wrong and being immediately pushed back. After a hard-fought battle, the young lad came out on top, taking £75,000 home all for himself. Interestingly, the contestant played a year before the broadcast, so he somehow had to keep it secret for a whole year.
#9: Colin vs The Sinnerman
Like all the Chasers, the Sinnerman is a scary opponent. Usually, he’s a challenge to beat, but not for Colin, who didn’t get a single incorrect answer. Neither did the Chaser in fairness, but that’s his job. The whole team made it through to the final. Despite Colin’s strong first display, they only managed to take £20k into the final. Still, their performance was impressive, and the four came out victorious, getting 22 answers correct in the final. Many fans even considered Colin to be Chaser material, but unfortunately, he was never offered the job.
#8: 1v4
Taking on one Chaser is scary enough, but you’d have to be a real daredevil to take on four at once. Well, contestant Oli once did exactly that after being offered £50k to take them on. Making that choice is a feat in its own right, but he took it to another level by destroying the Chasers at their own game. Thankfully, he didn’t take the higher offers, like six chasers for £600k. His final victory was the definition of cutting it close, with only 4 seconds left on his clock when the challenge ended.
#7: Shaun Wallace Pushed Back
Next up, we have a moment where barrister The Dark Destroyer gets shown up. Here, we see him going against a pair of ladies who got more than 20 correct answers. Wallace struggles to even get one step on the board, getting pushed back to square one more than once. The Chaser starts to bring things back, but in the end, he can’t get more than 8 squares. Despite having a consistent lead of over 14 points, the pair only walked home with £10k. It’s still a hefty amount, but they really should have gotten a bonus for that display, although embarrassing Shaun Wallace is bragging rights for life.
#6: 1 Second Sinnerman Guess
Here we have an intense final battle, with a hundred grand up for grabs. Contestants Karen & Ian managed to get 16 answers correct, impressive, but not quite enough for an easy victory. The pair succeed at holding him off early on, but as time runs out, Sinnerman begins to close the gap. He almost does it too, but panics in the final 10 seconds. He only gets a second for his final question, after a couple of embarrassing wrong answers. With such little time, he opts to randomly shout “green” before Walsh can even ask the question. It’s one of his lowest moments, especially since he did know the correct answers, but he only remembered them after answering wrong.
#5: Darragh’s First Appearance
Every Chaser landed the role by having prior experience on shows like “Mastermind” or “University Challenge”, except for Darragh Ennis. Originally an Oxford postdoctoral researcher, Darragh went on “The Chase” as a contestant in 2017. His display was remarkable, yet he was let down by his team and only went home with £1.575. The performance was so good, that they invited him to become a Chaser full-time, granting him the title “The Menace”. He was pitted against the Sinnerman, who got nowhere near beating them in the final, being 8 questions behind when time ran out.
#4: Jean Beats 5 Chasers
We’ve seen someone beat 4 Chasers, but how about 5? No one would be that talented, right? Well, Jean from Chester is. The reward was £100,000, an amazingly high prize to take home. It was a close battle, with Jean getting down to her final second, but somehow she managed to do it, making “Chase” history. It makes you wish they had a sixth chaser on board, which would’ve allowed her to take home an even greater prize. She’s another one of the few contestants fans wish could become a Chaser full-time, but in fairness, she seems way too friendly for the role.
#3: Dan’s Solo Win
Our next entry is the highest solo win ever on “The Chase”. Contestant Dan faces off against The Vixen, also known as Jenny Ryan. He starts the face-off with 17 correct answers, not mind-blowing, but enough to win. The Vixen puts up a strong fight, coming close to sending Dan home with nothing. She gets one answer away from 17, with only 8 seconds left to go. Fortunately for Dan, she seems to panic, letting him push her back one final time, guaranteeing his victory. It’s a delight to watch, with even the Vixen looking impressed, alongside somewhat humiliated.
#2: Underestimated Kat
Kat was an accountant from Essex, who the Chasers expected to perform a lot worse than she did. Their offers were condescendingly low, starting at only one grand, and all asking for 40 seconds on the clock. Thankfully for Kat, she made a bold decision, choosing to take on all five at once for fifty grand. In the end, it wasn’t even close, the Chasers ran out of time while she still had 20 seconds left on the clock. It’s a perfect example of the Chasers getting too confident and having it thrown right back in their face.
#1: The Beast Walking Off (More Than Once)
Labbett is one of two original Chasers, who has spent more than 15 years on the show. In that time, he’s sent tons of contestants home, making it TV gold when he’s beaten. Of course, it’s not as fun for the Beast as it is for everyone else. Sometimes, he feels so humiliated he storms off in a tantrum. Amusingly, this has happened more than six times. For the contestants, getting The Beast in a mood is the highest honor. The icing on the cake is when he punches the wall on the way out.
