Drake’s New “God’s Plan” Video”: Top 3 Things You Need to Know!

Just in case you’ve forgotten what Drake looks like in the time since his last widely released music video “Hotline Bling”, his new video for “God’s Plan” will reignite your love for the Canadian rapper. This long awaited release sees Drake take to the streets of Miami, Florida to give back to some of his fans. Here are three things that you should know about Drizzy’s heartwarming new video!

#3 – The Budget

Drake makes it no secret that he spent six figures of his own money on the production of this video, but it’s the distribution of this budget that is really the surprising part. The OVO Sound released clip begins with text that reads, “THE BUDGET FOR THIS VIDEO WAS $996, 631.90. WE GAVE IT ALL AWAY. DON’T TELL THE LABEL…” This is certainly an ambitious idea for a music video, and certainly one of the only ways to top some of the more visually striking music videos from one of the 21st century’s most creative voices.

#2 – An Important Moment

Building hype for his upcoming video, Drake took to instagram the night before “God’s Plan”‘s premiere to state that the clip was, “most important thing I have ever done in my career”. While it might be hard to believe, considering the successful career that Drake has seen up to this point, it’s hard to imagine a time we’ve ever seen the 6 God look this happy.

#1 – An Ode to Mothers Everywhere

If you had previously listened to Drake’s EP Scary Hours, you would know that Drake gives quite the loving shoutout to his mother. Turns out the love didn’t stop there, as at the conclusion of this video, Drizzy sits down to have a chat with a family by the beach, discussing the importance of motherly love, which left us and the family on screen in tears.
