The latest Wes Anderson trailer lands online! Take a trip to the Isle of Dogs!

Cinephiles rejoice! Now sit, stay, and roll over for Wes Anderson‘s (Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, The Grand Budapest Hotel) latest opus, Isle of Dogs. Fox Searchlight has just dropped the first official trailer for the celebrated arthouse auteur’s latest crack at the stop-motion animation genre, following 2009’s critically-lauded Fantastic Mr. Fox.

The film boasts an ensemble voice cast that features a slew of Anderson regulars (Bill Murray, Jeff Goldblum, Edward Norton, and Tilda Swinton) and a bunch of big names that are new to the party (Bryan Cranston, Scarlett Johansson, and Ken Watanabe).

The flick is described as follows:

ISLE OF DOGS tells the story of ATARI KOBAYASHI, 12-year-old ward to corrupt Mayor Kobayashi. When, by Executive Decree, all the canine pets of Megasaki City are exiled to a vast garbage-dump called Trash Island, Atari sets off alone in a miniature Junior-Turbo Prop and flies across the river in search of his bodyguard-dog, Spots. There, with the assistance of a pack of newly-found mongrel friends, he begins an epic journey that will decide the fate and future of the entire Prefecture.

So, yep, it may be fun for the whole family, but there’s some heady shit going on here. The trailer is jam-packed with beautiful imagery, socially-relevant heart-tugging themes, and a lineup of silver screen legends.

Check out the trailer below and start waiting patiently, as Isle of Dogs opens in theaters on March 23, 2018.
