VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton
Available on Facebook and Apple's portable products, this game by Zynga has gone on to become the most popular title on the social network, with over 62 million users worldwide. It may sound like a standard simulation game, but users have become addicted to its simple premise, which involves planting, plowing, harvesting crops and raising livestock. Incorporating social networking into the game, Facebook users are encouraged to invite friends to be their virtual neighbors. This allows them to visit their pal's farm, exchange gifts, and even start a co-op. A Facebook staple since its debut, it has spurred an extremely loyal following that continues to plan their life around in-game harvesting. In this video, http://www.WatchMojo.com takes a look at FarmVille.

Some games are too addictive to put down. Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’ll be taking a look at real-time simulation game FarmVille.

Available on Facebook and Apple’s portable “i” Products, this 2009 title by Zynga has gone on to become the most popular title on the social network, with over 62 million users worldwide. This is despite being a clone of its competitor’s earlier release “Farm Town.”

FarmVille may sound like a standard simulation game, but users have become addicted to its simple premise, which involves planting, plowing, harvesting crops and raising livestock. When first joining the game, players create their own avatar, are given an empty stretch of land, and an allowance of “farm coins.”

Soon after, players start earning experience points from developing their property, and earn more coins by harvesting their crops and livestock.
The game’s other currency “Farm Cash” can be purchased through leveling up, completing Facebook offers, and making micro transactions.
As players reach experience benchmarks, their level ranking rises. In turn, they can purchase new tools, animal types and crops from the “market.”

Incorporating social networking into the game, Facebook users are encouraged to invite friends to be their virtual neighbors. This allows them to visit their pal’s farm, exchange gifts, and even start a “co-op.”

A Facebook staple since its debut, FarmVille has spurred an extremely loyal following that continues to plan their life around in-game harvesting.
