VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton
Luxembourg is one of Europe's smallest countries, and is a founding member of the European Union, NATO and the United Nations. While the country does not experience extremes in terms of climate, rainfall is high. Warmer summers occur is the south of the country, and as such it is a prime location for the growth of crops, especially wine grapes. Luxembourg features three official languages: French, German and Luxembourgish, the latter of which is only spoken by roughly three hundred and ninety thousand people worldwide. In this video, http://www.WatchMojo.com travels to Western Europe to visit the small landlocked country of Luxembourg.
Formally titled the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, this small western European country has a population of roughly half a million. Bordering France, Germany and Belgium, Luxembourg is a landlocked nation. One of the smallest countries in Europe, it is smaller than the US state of Rhode Island. Luxembourg is also a founding member of the European Union, NATO and the United Nations. By far the country’s largest city is its capital, Luxembourg City.

While the country is a secular one, the majority of its inhabitants follow Roman Catholicism. Officially a trilingual country, the three main languages in Luxembourg are French, German and Luxembourgish. The latter of these languages is only spoken by roughly three hundred and ninety thousand people worldwide, and shows similarities to German, Dutch and French.

Luxembourg does not experience extremes in terms of climate, though rainfall is high. Characteristic of the weather are mild winters and moderately cool summers, with the sunniest weather falling from May to August. The south of the country features warmer summers, and as such is a prime location for the growth of crops, especially wine grapes.

Luxembourg has the highest Gross Domestic Product per capita in the world, and this is obvious to visitors because of the cleanliness of the streets and the sense of wealth in architecture, cafés and people.
