Top Attractions in Wales

Ffestiniog Railway
Another historic line is the Ffestiniog Railway located mainly within Snowdonia National Park. Initially relying on gravity and horse power, the railway runs from Porthamdog to the town of Blaenau Ffestiniog, and brings riders on gorgeous scenic trip through the mountains.
South Stack Lighthouse
Because of its numerous offshore islands, sea transportation was often used in the past. As such, Wales is home to a number of lighthouses that were once used as navigational aids, quite a few of which are found off the coast of Anglesey. One of the most impressive is the South Stack, found on the island of the same name.
More Lighthouses
There is also the Skerries lighthouse around which many shipwrecks and breeding seabirds can be observed. Entry to the Menai Strait is indicated by the Llanddwyn Island lighthouse, which is also on an island off Anglesey’s coast.
Flowers, Plants and More
When it comes to the nation’s flora, there is no better place than the National Botanic Garden of Wales with the world’s largest single-span glasshouse and its research and conservation centre.
Popular Attractions
Internationally preserved sites, heritage railways and historic lighthouses make up some of the very popular attractions that Wales has to offer.
