Script written by Andrew Tejada The season 3 trailer for "The Boys" had a lot of details that got us incredibly excited! For this list, we’ll be looking at the most exciting Easter Eggs, references and potential plot points hidden in the preview for Amazon’s wild superhero show. Beware of spoilers ahead. #5: A Much Edgier Soldier Boy

Top 10 Things You Missed in The Boys Season 3

During the first full length trailer for “The Boys” season 3, we were given a hint of how dangerous Soldier Boy might be. His scenes showed that he was very violent and extremely formidable in a fight. This characterization is in sharp contrast to his comic counterpart. While the Soldier Boy on the page is still strong, he’s also a bit of a pushover. Outside of his patriotic costume and shield, his most distinguishing characteristic was that he tried to avoid cursing. This lame excuse for a hero would eventually meet his end after a violent encounter with The Boys. It looks like the heroes on the show are going to have a much harder time taking this more brutal Soldier Boy down. And since Jensen Ackles is taking on the role, the character will definitely come off as intimidating. The actor has tons of experience playing edgy heroes. We’re looking forward to see what he brings to this deadlier version of Soldier boy.

#4: Neuman Could Become A Much Bigger Threat to the Country

One of the biggest shocks of the second season of the series revolved around Victoria Neuman. Throughout the episodes, she presented herself as a driven politician who was trying to bring down anyone who benefited from using superpowers inappropriately. However, the finale revealed that she has powerful abilities that she doesn’t mind using to dispatch her enemies. She literally blew the minds of superheroes and civilians alike with her bloody powers. The trailer hints that she’ll get her hands dirty again in season 3. While Neuman’s goals on the show are still unknown, we do know what her comic counterpart was able to achieve. The idiotic Victor Neuman stumbles his way upward into the presidency during the comics. Since he was heavily influenced and monitored by Vought, the company basically had control of the country. It’s still possible that the savvy Victoria might be secretly working to help Vought. After all, she did take out some of their enemies in season 2. Hopefully, Hughie can take advantage of his close relationship with the twisted Victoria to stop her and whoever she may be working with.

#3: More Shots at Pop Culture & Political Events

The writers behind “The Boys” have never been shy at parodying real life events or popular forms of entertainment. At one point in the trailer, Homelander violently takes someone out before landing in front of a bunch of cheering people. One of the bystanders can be seen wearing a fur hat and horns. It looks like he's meant to resemble Jake Angeli, a man who was arrested and sent to jail for “disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds” in 2021. The presence of this character hints that the show may introduce an event that mirrors the real life D.C. incident. Outside of serious political commentary, the show will fully confront a big pop culture blunder. A Train is seen holding a soda for a commercial spot that involved police. Based on the trailer and the teaser, he’ll parody a poorly received Kendall Jenner Pepsi ad. The infamous commercial saw the celebrity relieving the tension of a protest with a soda. It was largely criticized for trying to cash in on the imagery of real protests while not offering realistic solutions. Between the A-Train commercial and Homelander imagery, it looks like the writers’ pens and commentary will be sharper than ever.

#2: The Boys Will Likely Fight the Super Team Known as Payback

Our heroes should get ready to face a group of powerful Supes that don’t work for the Seven. In the comics, a team named Payback was full of so-called heroes who wanted more attention. Its members willingly took an assignment to assassinate the heroes in hopes of improving their clout. Although they managed to get the jump on Kimiko, The Boys got revenge and took down every single member of this twisted team. Payback consisted of members such as Stormfront, Soldier Boy and Crimson Countess. Fortunately for the Boys, they’ve already taken out the show’s Stormfront. But Crimson Countess and Soldier Boy look tougher than they’ve ever been. If Payback is sent after the Boys, our heroes may not make it out of the battle unscathed. Luckily, there is one little detail that may give Butcher and his allies just the edge they need.

#1: Butcher Finally Gets Superpowers

After impressively taking out Supes with nothing more than his smarts and resourceful nature for two seasons, the mortal Butcher is getting a serious powerup. The trailer shows him gaining super strength and laser eyes thanks to a special substance. His comic counterpart would likely shake his head that it took him so long. On the page, Butcher had enhanced speed, strength and reflexes early on in the series. He also insisted that all the Boys get a similar boost so they could fight any supe that threatened them. Although the comic version of Butcher only needed one dose to be strong for life, the show’s version relies on a substance whose effects are seemingly temporary. If he and the rest of the Boys decide to all enhance their strength and speed, they better hope it doesn’t fade away when an angry Supe knocks on their doors.
