Top 10 Ultimate Final Forms in Anime

For this list, we'll be looking at the forms taken by anime heroes and villains when they reach their absolute limits. We're basing our picks not only on their power levels but also on how iconic they are. Keep in mind we won't be including character's whose potential has yet to reach their limits or has obvious untapped potential.
#10: Senketsu Kisaragi
“Kill la Kill” (2013-14)
Kamui’s are already beastly, scantily clad outfits that turn their wearers into unstoppable killing machines, so imagine what happens when one absorbs an untold amount of Life Fibers in order to give it a divine boost. With Junketsu and everyone else’s Goku Uniform now fuelling it, Senketsu was easily able to rocket Ryuko into space and take on the full might of mommy’s own vicious threads. Hell, Ryuko could be stabbed repeatedly and just brush it off. Someone hook me up with this tailor.
#9: Naraku’s Shikon Jewel Fusion
“Inuyasha” (2000-10)
Not the Spider’s most stylish outing, but then again, it’s a fair trade off for supernatural fury. Backed into a corner by the half-demon dog and his misfit crew, Naraku made one last grasp for power by fusing himself with the complete Shikon Jewel, resulting in his body morphing into a gigantic, hellish husk with only destruction in mind. While Inuyasha and Kagome managed to break him from the inside out, Naraku’s last demonic guise still stands as a monument to all the wickedness he had inflicted over the course of the series.
#8: Classic Gridman
“SSSS.Gridman” (2018)
It’s rare that a reinterpretation of an iconic character manages to stick the landing while also hitting all the right nostalgic notes. In this instance, during his final battle with Alexis, Gridman loses the shining, anime-only exterior, and ascends into his true form…Gridman. That’s right, his ultimate form is the classic look from the original tokasatsu series, which proves strong enough to wipe the floor with the kaiju and essentially fix the world. Not only is the execution pretty-damn slick but also serves as the biggest gift for die-hard fans. Baby Dan Dan!
#7: Father
“Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood” (2009-10)
It may not have lasted very long on account of Hohenheim nerfing his powers with the ultimate alchemy trap card, but from the way he managed to form a miniature sun in the palm of his hand with zero effort, it’s clear that Father had truly reached a state beyond humans and Homonculi. All he had to do was swallow God. No biggie. Now appearing much younger, rocking that l’oreal hair and really pulling off a mean toga, even after he lost his mini-sun he was still able to dish out miracles the likes of which no other alchemist could hope to muster.
#6: Kars, the Ultimate Lifeform
“JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency” (2013)
Who would have guessed that a Superbeing would be so flamboyant? While his abilities as a Pillar Man put him leagues above the average human, after getting his hands on the Red Stone of Aja, Kars was able to ascend to a point where he had control over all life on the planet. This not only translated into his body gaining various animal attributes, but for some reason could also summon murderous squirrels strong enough to slice through cyborg Nazis. Who knows what else he could have pulled off…
#5: Aizen Fourth Hogyoku Form
“Bleach” (2004-12)
Like a twisted butterfly emerging from its cocoon, Aizen’s fourth and final transformation took him all the way from godly mullet man to full-on monster. With the Hogyoku as his power source, Aizen not only grows insidious wings and has his zanpakuto merged into his hand, but his face peels off to reveal a hideous, dark maw. As you might have guessed, his new ugly mug isn’t just for show, and if not for Ichigo getting his own power-up just in time, the Butterfly of Death would have easily wasted him and all of Soul Society in the process.
#4: Omnimon Merciful Mode
“Digimon Adventure tri. Future” (2018)
When it looks like a world-ending Digimon is about to put an end to everything, you can always count on the Digidestined to pull out that old favourite trope of mixing all their digital partners together into one, unbeatable data packet. In this case, the original team took it to the next level by having every Mega Level Digimon at their disposal fuse together, resulting in the already powerful Omnimon getting something of an angelic makeover – capable of calling down some serious divine judgment. Not quite my definition of mercy, but hey, whatever gets the job done.
#3: Madara Uchiha, Sage of the Six Paths
“Naruto Shippuden” (2007-17)
Ignoring everything that happened with Kaguya, the level of strength the OG Uchiha managed to reach was unlike anything the likes of Team 7 had encountered before. With the Sharingan/Rinnegan, the DNA of the First Hokage, and the Ten Tailed Beast in his possession, Madara’s jutsu was able to cripple the allied armies like they were paper. Kind of like he was doing before, only now with way more finesse. While the likes of Guy and the resurrected Kage were able to dish out some damage, it paled in comparison to what Madara was capable of unleashing.
#2: 100% Toguro
“Yu Yu Hakusho” (1992-94)
He was already built like a brick shithouse and could punch the average Spirit Detective into next Tuesday with minimal effort, so what happens when the sunglasses-wearing fiend digs deep and exerts himself? Whelp, he goes from muscles to mutant, becoming this sickly-looking demon that is somehow even more intimidating than normal. And this is all before he starts punching, which by this point are practically a death sentences. Demon steaks and weights will get you swol, bruh.
#1: Perfect Cell
“Dragon Ball Z” (1989-96)
Goku is always finding ways to go one step further and reach a new level of power, so he’s out. Frieza’s final evolution on a dying Namek certainly could have made the cut, but like his Saiyan nemesis he keeps finding ways to gain additional forms. So, who does that leave? Only the ultimate creation, of course! After absorbing the likes of 17 and 18, Cell was able to finally become complete, or in his words – perfect. This not only included one hell of a jawline, but enough force to cripple Vegeta and drive Goku to a standstill. If not for Gohan reaching a level beyond Super Saiyan, the planet would be toast. Now please don’t get resurrected and reveal golden cell – you’ll ruin this entire list.
