When celebrities get the South Park treatment, some can't handle the heat! Join us as we count down our picks for the most devastating celebrity parodies that had their targets fuming. From Hollywood actors to political figures, these famous folks got roasted by Trey Parker and Matt Stone's animated satire and didn't take it too well! Our countdown includes Tom Cruise refusing to come out of the closet, Kanye West not getting the fishsticks joke, Donald Trump's microscopic problems, Barbra Streisand as a giant mecha monster, and the royal couple's "Worldwide Privacy Tour." Which celebrity takedown did you think was most brutal? Let us know in the comments!

#10: Kristi Noem

Still relevant in its 27th season, “South Park” depicted the controversial Secretary of Homeland Security as a dog-butchering maniac whose face is constantly at risk of falling off. The running joke about shooting dogs is based on a story that Noem included in her own book, where she wrote about killing a puppy she had deemed untrainable. Noem was clearly unhappy with her portrayal on the show, calling it “lazy” and accusing them of only mocking her for her looks. However, Noem’s response totally ignoring the dog-killing gag seems like a pretty telling omission.

#9: The Shannon Family

In the episode “Raising the Bar,” “South Park” pointed to reality stars ‘Mama June’ Shannon and ‘Honey Boo Boo’ as clear signs that our collective ‘bar’ had plummeted to unprecedented lows. The episode featured an extended parody of their TLC reality show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” where the child pageant star gets a heart transplant from a pig and ‘sketti-wrestles’ with Cartman on the White House lawn. In an interview with TMZ shortly after the episode aired, Mama June didn’t seem too happy with their depiction. She told the outlet, “that show is not a show that I would want to be on to begin with,” and added, “the way they portrayed the show, it was kinda trashy.”

#8: Prince Harry & Meghan Markle

After the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped back from their royal duties in the UK and moved to the US, it wasn’t long before “South Park” featured an uncannily similar set of former Canadian royals. The couple moves to the quiet mountain town to loudly and constantly berate everyone about how they want to be left alone, before embarking on a “Worldwide Privacy Tour” to publicly demand their privacy. After the episode aired, there were rumors that Harry and Meghan were deeply upset with the parody and were considering legal action. A representative for the couple eventually shut down the rumors of a potential lawsuit, calling the allegations “boring and baseless.”

#7: Barbra Streisand

In the episode “Mecha-Streisand,” “South Park” depicted renowned actress and singer Barbra Streisand as a villain dead set on obtaining a mystical artifact so she can take over the world. The climax of the episode featured Streisand obtaining the artifact and transforming into the titular “Mecha-Streisand,” a giant robotic Kaiju. The real Streisand took issue with her parody in an interview later that year, where she accused the show of fostering “cynicism and negativity” in kids and encouraging them to look down on successful women. The show’s creators responded in the next season with the episode “Spookyfish,” a Halloween special where the edges of the screen were framed with pictures of Streisand as well as text that said “spooky vision.”

#6: Sally Struthers

In one of their earliest celebrity parodies, “South Park” mocked the “All in the Family” actress Sally Struthers’ weight while appearing in ads raising money for starving children. In the episode “Starvin’ Marvin,” the boys see a Struthers ad before eventually discovering that the campaign is a ruse. Struthers is hoarding all the food for herself. The show’s creators said they heard that Struthers was deeply offended by her depiction on the show. In typical “South Park” fashion, the show doubled down on the joke and would later bring back Struthers as a Jabba the Hutt parody in the episode “Starvin’ Marvin in Space.”

#5: Jennifer Lopez

Cartman’s racist hand-puppet-parody of actress and pop star Jennifer Lopez becomes a nationwide sensation, threatening to replace the ‘real’ J.Lo. After Cartman’s hand steals her career and her then-fiance Ben Affleck, Lopez snaps and tries to kill Cartman. The episode ends with J.Lo getting arrested and forced to work at a Mexican restaurant. In the commentary for the episode, Trey Parker shared a story he’d heard from a friend in Hollywood who claimed that Lopez hated the parody so much that she had fired crew members who quoted the episode on-set.

#4: Bono

Randy attempts to win an award for taking the world’s largest dump. However, he faces an unexpected rival: U2 lead singer Bono, who refuses to accept the second-place spot. The episode eventually reveals that Bono isn’t trying to take the world’s largest turd, but is the world's largest turd, which is why he can’t accept being number two in any field and is constantly striving for accolades. The episode mocks Bono’s seemingly contradictory ability to achieve so much as both an artist and a humanitarian while still somehow coming off like, well, you know…

#3: Kanye West

Back when the most outrageous thing about Kanye West was his colossal ego, “South Park” spent an entire episode mocking just that. The classic episode “Fishsticks” revolves around Jimmy and Cartman (but mostly Jimmy) coming up with a pun about liking fishsticks and being a gay fish. The joke spreads like wildfire, but the only person on Earth who doesn’t get it is none other than rapper Kanye West, who thinks everyone is seriously accusing him of being a gay fish. West responded to the episode online, admitting it had hurt his feelings but added, “I ACTUALLY HAVE BEEN WORKING ON MY EGO THOUGH.” Kanye also referenced the episode in his song, “Gorgeous,” where he rapped, “choke a ‘South Park’ writer with a fishstick.”

#2: Donald Trump

After Paramount’s massive payout to the Trump administration and the suspiciously timed cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s late-night show, “South Park” fans were eager to see how the network’s flagship comedy series would respond to the current political landscape. The latest season premiere dropped the show’s previous Trump stand-in, President Garrison, and introduced the ‘real’ Donald Trump. This depiction echoes their old parody of Saddam Hussein, as both are portrayed as nasally-voiced dictators in relationships with Satan. Where Trump stands apart, though, is in his obsession with lawsuits as well as the focus on his microscopic junk. The White House called the episode a “desperate attempt for attention,” but it seems like “South Park” won’t be letting up on Trump or his administration anytime soon.

#1: Tom Cruise

In the iconic “Trapped in the Closet,” “South Park” skewered Tom Cruise for being a member of the Church of Scientology and refusing to come out of the closet - Stan’s closet, that is. Although Cruise never commented publicly on the parody, there were rumors that he had been involved in pulling a rerun of the episode. At the time, sources alleged that Cruise had threatened to back out of the press tour for “Mission: Impossible III” if Viacom re-aired the episode, but Cruise later denied those rumors. Following the controversy, the show featured Cruise again in their infamous 200th episode, where the actor assembled a class action lawsuit of all the celebrities who had been mocked throughout the series.
