Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we are counting down our picks for the Top 10 Times Anime Bullies Messed With The Wrong Person.

#10: Sumo Smackdown

“Hinomaru Sumo” (2018-19) Goes to show that sometimes fists can’t best sheer willpower. In order to get back the sumo club’s digs from a crew of high school thugs, Hinomaru challenges their leader to a battle of stamina, the terms being that Yuna is free to wail on him for ten minutes, but if he doesn’t flinch then the slacker pack need to vacate the premise. So, what happens? Yuna nearly breaks his hands trying to make the sumo prodigy budge, only for the timer to run out, leaving Hinomaru free to return the favour.

#9: The Better Copy

“Kuroko’s Basketball” (2012-15) With no respect for other players or the sport itself, this failed member of the Generation of Miracles was hateable from the get-go! What was worse was how he implemented dirty tactics along with a style of play that allowed him to copy the moves of others, whilst also making the originals seem irrelevant. Which was why it was so satisfying to watch Kise upstage him during the end of their match. With his own ability of Perfect Copy procedurally dunking on Haizaki, Kise proved why he was the better man both on and off the court.

#8: The Bra

“Plastic Nee-san” (2011-12) Well, that’s certainly one way to save your juniors from getting beat up. Also a sure fire way to befuddle their attackers, get yourself arrested, and cause a legion of anime fans to question life itself. Randomly coming across some fellow students being accosted by a bunch of typical bullies, Kuniki leaps in to save the day. How does he take these thugs to task? By making his shirt explode, revealing his choice in lacy undergarments. Pair that with his violent hip thrusts, and you have one of the most random yet iconic moments in any anime ever.

#7: Locked and Loaded

“Sword Art Online II” (2014) Plaguing on someone’s fears is never okay, even more so if they have trauma over something as understandably terrifying as a gun. Originally bullied by a gang of female students over not being able to stand the sight of firearms, Shion gets her own back in the best way imaginable. After overcoming her fear thanks to her adventures with Kirito, the in-game archer shows off her new marksman skills right in front of those that used to mock her. Their silence speaks volumes.

#6: Hearted Into Oblivion

“Magical Girl Site” (2018) Granted, the bullies in this series aren’t so much people as they are amalgamations of all things evil. Seriously, between the verbal barrages, physical abuse as well as the constant threats of murder and rape, these high schoolers are more like demons, taking way too much enjoyment from making Aya’s life a misery. At least until she finds herself loaded up with a magical girl gun that allows her to send them hurtling to their death in a burst of heart-shaped light. Fitting since it splattered their hearts and all their other organs in front of a train.

#5: Kurugaya Snaps

“Little Busters!” (2012-14) Spreading rumours and causing chaos behind another’s back is the epitome of cowardice, and these girls fit the bill to a tee. After Kurugaya discovers that some jealous and vitriolic students are causing problems for her friends as a means to get to her, she flips the kill switch and goes full alpha on them. Not only does she catch them in the act, but makes it crystal clear that if they step out of line again, she’ll unleash her borderline inhuman strength on them. We doubt they could survive Kurugaya’s special brand of kick.

#4: Break a Leg

“World Trigger” (2014-) You’d think that in a world constantly under the threat of alien invaders, there would be a substantially fewer number of jackasses causing trouble. Sadly not, though in this instance they made the fatal mistake of picking on the one and only student who happened to be an otherworldly neighbour in disguise. As a thug tries to pressure Yuma into giving him money after pretending to get his leg broken in an obviously fake stunt, Yuma obliges…after kicking him and breaking his leg for real.

#3: Virgin Power

“Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai” (2018) We don’t deserve a leading man like Sakurai. Trying to protect a classmate from an entitled jock desperate to make her his girlfriend, the normally lax student delivers the most unorthodox public humiliation ever. Not only does Sakurai nail the walking stereotype in the shin, he verbally eviscerates in front of a train station filled with people. Best of all, he shoots down the notion he’s been sleeping with the girl he’s protecting, because he’s still a virgin. Give it up for this absolute chad.

#2: Rinne Strikes Back

“Vivid Strike!” (2016) And this is what happens when you push a Mortal Kombat character too far. Not only was Rinne tormented by a gaggle of harpies with nothing better to do than to ruin her day with cruel pranks, but they also helped cause the death of her gravely ill grandfather by preventing her from getting home to provide medical care. Naturally, this causes her to say “screw it, I’m going to fatality all these bitches”. Which she does, in a brutally graphic fashion. We would say those girls probably learned their lesson after enduring such punishment, but chances are at least half of them are paralysed.

#1: The Chair

“Higurashi: When They Cry Rei” (2009) Given the amount of crazy time-loops, parallel worlds and other shocking spin-offs, it was only a matter of time before the main cast started beating the stuffing out of one another. Case and point, in this timeline, Satoko decides it would be a great idea to mess around with Rika by stealing her book. Obviously by this point in the cycle, Rika had had enough, because she skips right to using a chair to bring some serious pain. There’s so much final boss energy here it’s a shock she didn’t break the curse then and there.
