On his hunt to kill Sarah Connor, the Terminator tracks her down to a nightclub cleverly titled Tech Noir; a nod to the film’s genre, which was coined by the director, James Cameron. The Terminator has her right where he wants her, but Kyle Reese intervenes and the two engage in a wild gunfight where several innocent bystanders are shot dead. Not only does this scene give us one of the most memorable lines from the entire franchise; it also demonstrates just how difficult it is to kill a Terminator.

A member of the USS Jimmy Carter, Petty Officer Goodnow is one of the people who went to investigate a mysterious box that’d been recovered from the ocean. Despite instructions from the T-888 Queeg to leave the box closed, the crew opens it anyway and – to their horror – they discover a liquid-metal T-1001. Officer Goodnow attempts to shoot the machine, but the Terminator is far too quick, impaling her through the chest and killing her instantly.

The T-1000 returns for this sequel/reboot, and again it has its sites set on killing Sarah Connor. In an attempt to trick Sarah, it disguises itself as Kyle Reese, but Sarah doesn’t fall for that classic blunder, and exposes the machine. She then immediately shoots the roof, allowing acid to fall through, damaging the T-1000. However, it’s not quite dead, and the machine nearly kills Sarah, before being grabbed by the throat by the T-800, who holds it in the acid, destroying it for good.

The older brother of Kyle Reese and the uncle of John Connor, Derek was one of the best soldiers in the Resistance. He’s also extremely ruthless, willing to do whatever it takes to stop Judgment Day and destroy Skynet, even if it means sacrificing himself. Together with Sarah, Cameron, and John, the group attempts to protect Savannah Weaver from an impending Skynet attack. Unfortunately for Derek, he’s met by the Terminator at the front entrance and immediately shot in the head and killed. The other members of the group are able to save Savannah, however, meaning he did not die in vain.

Sent back to 1984 and assigned with only one task - to kill a woman named Sarah Connor - the Terminator begins tracking down every woman named Sarah Connor in Los Angeles. How does he do this? By going through the phonebook of course! This leads him to the suburbs. Locating the house of one Sarah Connor, the Terminator parks out front and casually walks to the door, saying only two words to the unsuspecting woman who answers. Her identity confirmed, the Terminator coldly shoots her directly in the forehead. However, what makes this scene so memorable is how he ruthlessly unloads rounds on the body, assuring the kill and showing us just how inhuman he is.

One of the main antagonists of season one, Cromartie was a powerful infiltration Terminator and possessed the ability to mimic human behavior. He eventually takes on the identity of FBI agent Robert Kester in an attempt to track down John Connor. Identifying Cromartie as a primary suspect in two recent deaths, James Ellison leads a raid on Cromartie’s motel hideout, which ends in disaster. With Johnny Cash playing in the background, we see dozens of FBI agents murdered as one by one they fall into the pool.

This scene features two terminators playing a game of cat and mouse. Unbeknownst to us, the T-1000 has infiltrated John Connor’s home, and attempts to find out his location. The T-800 isn’t buying it, however, and cleverly asks about John’s dog, purposefully giving a different name. And the T-1000 falls for it, blowing its cover. The creepy part, however, is when the camera pans slowly to the right, revealing that not only has the T-1000 likely killed Janelle; it has brutally skewered Todd as well.

Sarah Connor has finally made it to the police station, and perhaps for the first time in the entire film, feels like she’s actually safe. But of course, she isn’t. The Terminator soon arrives at the station, although it’s denied access to see Sarah. After delivering one of the most memorable lines of the film, it proceeds to drive a car into the police station lobby, immediately killing the desk sergeant. Heavily armed, it begins an assault on the police station, killing 17 police officers and even damaging the building so badly that a fire breaks out and it partially collapses.

Granted, if a naked guy walked up to us in the middle of the night, we’d be pretty defensive too. If he looked like Arnold Schwarzenegger, however, we probably wouldn’t insult him or pull a switchblade on him, which is exactly the mistake these three guys make at the beginning of the original film. The recently arrived and completely naked Terminator demands their clothing, but when the boys refuse, he attacks. He knocks the first one unconscious before ripping the heart out of another with his bare hand. Sensibly, the remaining thug surrenders his clothes faster than you can say Sarah Connor. Composed entirely of liquid metal that allows the machine to assume different human forms, the T-1000 is nearly impossible to destroy. Sarah unloads on it with several shotgun blasts to no avail. Just when it seems like the machine is going to complete its goal, the T-800 shows up, and blasts it in the chest with a grenade launcher. The blast knocks the T-1000 into a vat of molten metal, ultimately destroying it. Of course, before it dies, it proceeds to shapeshift into every single human it had killed in the film while it thrashes helplessly in molten steel.
