Top 10 Strongest DC Animated Characters
#10: The Flash
At first glance the Scarlet Speedster might not seem like one of DC’s strongest characters but he’s a real heavyweight once you get to know him. Being able to move at superspeed doesn’t just make the Flash really fast, it also allows him to move through time and even alter reality. Think about it: entire universes can be rewritten by this guy if he decides to lock in. That’s a seriously powerful skill. While the Flash isn’t a hero you normally associate with brute strength, he can also replicate super strength with a special move called the infinite mass punch. The dude is practically a superhero swiss army knife! When it comes down to the brass tacks, the Flash forever remains a powerhouse of DC.
#9: Aquaman
For someone who’s been considered a joke by general audiences, this punchline sure packs quite a punch. Aquaman has a litany of impressive abilities like manipulating water, breathing under the ocean, and possessing super strength. While he’s half human, his Atlantean roots allow him to do some pretty crazy things. Plus, when he’s actually in the water he’s basically a juggernaut since its his home turf. He can swim with such speed you’d think this guy is a sub-aquatic version of the Flash. Aquaman didn’t always have the best reputation, but his stats show that he’s a physical specimen that few can outcompete. Come on, this dude is the freaking king of the seven seas! Point is: Aquaman is always going to be a heavy-hitter.
#8: Black Adam
Anytime that this villain shows up he changes the hierarchy of power. Ok…maybe not, but still, Black Adam is a deadly threat! He has powers similar to Shazam but serves as a dark mirror to Billy Batson. Black Adam is an intimidating figure who doesn’t just have clear physical strength but also a ton of political influence. This is because he’s often depicted as the ruler of the fictional country of Khandaq. Not many other bad guys can flex that they run a country! Black Adam also has strength that can rival Superman’s. Since Adam’s magic-based too, that actually means that he has an advantage over him. While the two don’t clash often it’s clear that Black Adam’s a supervillain you don’t want to cross!
#7: Wonder Woman
The Amazonians of Themyscira are a race of highly-skilled warriors and their champion is none other than Wonder Woman. It should come as no surprise to anyone that Diana’s an extremely strong and capable superhero. She has strength that puts her on par with Superman but also combat skills that make her one of DC’s greatest fighters. Plenty of her strength also comes from her DNA. That’s because she’s the daughter of Hippolyta and Zeus, making her a demigod. Diana has proven herself to be a serious threat, heck, in “Flashpoint Paradox” she basically crumbled civilization in her war against Aquaman. When it's all said and done, Wonder Woman’s essentially a goddess, and that means you want her fighting for you rather than against you.

#6: The Spectre
DC’s embodiment of God's wrath doesn’t show up in animation a whole lot, but when he does, he makes one hell of an impression. The Spectre is an insanely OP individual with the ability to inflict great punishment on those deserving of it. If you’ve ever checked out his “DC Showcase” segment you know just how ruthless he can be towards the wicked. You can technically label the Spectre as a superhero if you want but he’s really so much more than that. He’s a cosmic force of nature whose strength is in a league of its own. This is a mind-melting spirit of vengeance, and if you’re ever alone in a dark alley and you spot the Spectre, you seriously messed up big time!
#5: Doctor Fate
The magical side of DC is home to some incredibly powerful heroes including Doctor Fate. There’s been loads of different people to take on the mantle but the Helmet of Fate is the one thing that matters the most. In terms of what makes Doctor Fate so strong, that's the main thing. The helmet allows its wearer to teleport, fly, phase through solid matter, you name it, the helmet can pretty much do it. Doctor Fate’s also an expert on the occult and can cast spells like nobody’s business. Fate has strength through his magical prowess, but he also has insane aura. Seriously, look how cool he is! Whether he’s batting demons, sorcerers, or just petty crooks, Doctor Fate is always coming out on top!
#4: Superman
We’ve kind of danced around the Man of Steel here and there but when it’s all said and done he really is up there as one of DC’s all-time strongest superheroes. Plainly put: when you think about strength, you think about Superman. He’s got the basic slew of powers like super strength, flight, and superspeed, but he’s also the one who essentially made superpowers mainstream. Another thing that’s so awesome about Superman is that his strength isn’t solely defined by his ability to benchpress buildings. Sure, he’s physically very strong but he’s also strong through his ability to be kind. He treats everyone with compassion and this huge level of empathy is yet another reason why he’s considered one of the strongest heroes DC has.
#3: Trigon
Demons are scary, and Trigon is no exception. He’s one of DC’s biggest cases of pure nightmare fuel, and all you need to do is take one look at him to find out why. Trigon’s a deeply disturbing force of wrath and in every one of his animated adventures he’s a beast. He mind-controlled the Justice League and put the Teen Titans (including his own daughter Raven) through hell. This devilish creature also crossed paths with Darkseid during “Justice League Dark: Apokolips War”. He picked a fight with the New God and held his own. Not many can stand toe-to-toe with Darkseid, and if that doesn’t make it clear that Trigon is crazy strong, we don’t know what does!
#2: Doomsday
There’s characters who are strong, but there’s also characters who are strong and resilient, and that’s Doomsday in a nutshell. Doomsday is best known by fans for being the scary spiky creature who killed Superman. Honestly, is there anything else you really need to know? He’s pure unadulterated violent rage and the Justice League never saw him coming. Even in the extremely unlikely scenario that you can beat him, guess what? He’ll bounce back like it’s no big deal and return even stronger. If he could mop the floor with DC’s best superheroes and annihilate the Man of Steel is there anyone who really stands a chance against this monster? Long story short: if Doomsday even so much as looks at you, you’re a goner!
#1: Darkseid
Darkseid is an insanely powerful tyrant and the embodiment of pure evil. It kind of sucks to admit that evil has strength but when it comes to Darkseid that’s absolutely what’s going on here. He has hordes of parademons who do his every bidding, omega beams that can track down and eradicate any hero, and entire planets that fear him. Darkseid is often treated as the final boss of DC and for good reason. We mentioned the animated movie “Justice League Dark: Apokolips War” and that’s one giant case study into why Darkseid should be feared. He enslaved the entire world and during the whole film’s runtime you got the sense that he was just unstoppable. Plainly put, no one decimates superheroes like this guy.
