For this list, we're looking at the best tracks to come from of one of the biggest girl bands of all time. We're basing our choices on a mix of the tunes' chart success, overall popularity, and of course their creativity. We'll be excluding holiday tracks though. But whether you're a fan of Sporty, Scary, Baby, Posh and/or Ginger Spice, rest assured there will be plenty of musical gems for you to enjoy here.

#10: “Mama” Spice (1996)

This sweet pop ballad off the Spice Girls’ debut album is sure to tug at your heartstrings. Lyrically, it touches on the special bond and outright unconditional love shared between a mother and daughter. Not only was it the Spice Girls’ fourth single, but it landed them a fourth consecutive UK number 1, while also taking the top chart spot in Scotland, Ireland, and Austria. To top off the song’s achievements, its deeply touching music video features the girls singing to their real life mothers. Talk about heart-warming!

#9: “Holler” Forever (2000)

Though Geri Halliwell’s 1998 departure meant the original line-up of five eventually became four, it didn’t stop the girl’s relevance in the music industry, with “Holler” being a true reflection of that fact. Its R&B flavor was well received as the song encountered enormous success worldwide, peaking inside the top ten in over ten countries. Released at the turn of the century, it revealed a different style of music from Spice Girls’ normal pop sound, with its more literal sexualised lyrics and of course, a new line-up. With a futuristic music video to go, this song has a catchy beat and is a healthy addition to the girl group’s musical catalogue.

Bagging another number one spot on the UK Chart, this emotional ballad revealed a softer musical side of the Spice Girls. Lyrically, the song is said to symbolise the importance of retaining memories of a lost friend. Though released during the time of Geri Halliwell’s departure, this didn’t stop the song achieving platinum, silver, and gold status in several places around the world. In addition, the music video was just as impressive, as it took five months to make but boasted stop-motion technology featuring the five girls as fairies. Overall, it’s a heartfelt piece of music that is no doubt remembered for its authenticity, beautiful message, and peaceful sound.

If you ever wanted to bring together edginess, girl power, and one hell of a disco track, then this song will satisfy all of the above. Peaking at number one on the singles charts in Ireland, the UK, and Scotland, this song questions a celeb’s sense of self-worth when he or she appears overly arrogant or smug. And of course, who better to set him or her straight than the Spice Girls with this hard-hitting slice of pop gold! Highlighting the band’s diverse singing talents, this track is both groovy and fun to sing along and dance to, so it’s no wonder it encountered the success it did.

This unforgettable track was released at a time when the Spice Girls were thrust into the spotlight among constant media frenzy. Amongst it all, the girls took a step back and released “Too Much” to serve as a moving reminder that overloading your life may do more harm than good. The track also served as the song chosen to be the opening performance sequence for their film “Spice World.” In typical Spice Girl domination, the song shot to number one on the UK chart and into the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. Meanwhile, its slower pace and head-swaying vibe made it well suited for any relaxing playlist.

Co-written by the girls, along with Matt Rowe and Richard Stannard, this song celebrates the passion and unity between lovers. It’s a favorite at weddings, or any romantic occasion really. Despite only being the group’s third single, it helped cement their strength as a musical powerhouse that was unafraid to take on much deeper subject matters.

The Spice Girls characteristically experimented with diverse genres of music throughout their impressive career, with “Stop” being no exception. Not only did the Spiceworld single place a memorable melody into the ears and hearts of many, but it also fused the genres of blue-eyed soul and pop together to creatively wow us with another catchy track. “Stop”’s success saw it peak inside the top ten of several countries around the world world, while being certified gold in Australia, and silver in the UK and France. Aside from leaving viewers with the now-famous dance choreography, the music video captured the girl’s fun-loving personalities as they helped make everyone’s lives just that little bit more enjoyable.

The music video captures the complete domination the Spice Girls had over the world in 1997, as they fiercely take over society with spice mania. While always a crowd favorite at Spice Girls concerts, “Spice Up Your Life” is also one of their signature tracks, as demonstrated when it was chosen as one the songs they performed at the 2012 London Olympics Closing Ceremony. With its fun lyrics, hip-hop mixed with pop-inspired style, and classic music video of the girls running amok, it’s no wonder this song took home the 1997 Brit Award for Best Single.
