Top 10 Predictions for RuPaul's Drag Race: All Stars 4
#10: Miss Vanjie Will Be Referenced
Season 10 of “Drag Race” gave us one of the most quoted lines in the show’s herstory - and in the very first episode! As the drag daughter for Season 3 and “All Stars 1” alum, Alexis Mateo, Vanessa Vanjie Mateo entered the competition with high expectations on her. Unfortunately the sewing challenge in the season premiere caught her out, with her blob-shaped silhouette sending her into the bottom. What followed was the most memorable exit we’ve ever seen on “Drag Race”: [Miss Vanjie’s elimination] The memes were plenty and RuPaul - and the other contestants - couldn’t stop laughing about it. With Season 10 still fresh in our memories, there’s no way Miss Vanjie won’t come up in “All Stars 4.”
#9: There Will be Plenty of Unexpected Twists
With each new season, RuPaul’s Drag Race would not be the show it is without plenty of twists. The returning queen gimmick first started in Season 3 when the judges chose to bring Shangela back into the competition. Since then, it’s become something of a staple on the show, particularly in “All Stars.” The second “All Stars” teased a “Ru-venge” twist through the first half of the season that culminated in the iconic mirror reveal. In All Stars 3, in a twist nobody saw coming (except those following RuPaul’s Drag Race reddit threads) we saw BendeLa eliminate herself, the eliminated queens returning as the jury and though not a twist but more of a shocker, Shangela not being voted by her fellow Queens for the Top 2. We’re definiately expecting Season 4 to leave us shocked. Perhaps a surprise returning queen?
#8: Chad Michaels, Alaska And Trixie Mattel Will Make Appearances
Speaking of returning queens, We loved seeing Chad Michaels and Alaska play a role in “All Stars 3,” even if they weren’t given much to do in the end. Chad had previously missed out on the Season 4 crown to none other than Alaska’s then-boyfriend, Sharon Needles, but when she returned to compete in the first “All Stars,” she snatched the win. Similarly, Alaska made the Top 3 in Season 5, but she entered “All Stars 2” ready to slay the second time around. The two made ongoing cameos in “All Stars 3,” acting as cloaked agents for Ru to bring back eliminated queens. Following Trixie Mattel’s win in that season, why not continue the tradition?
#7: Jasmine Masters Will Be Eliminated First
She’s Jasmine Masters, and she has something to say.Jasmine may have come nowhere near close to winning the crown in Season 7, but she’s since become one of the show’s biggest social media stars. Her brutal honesty in her video posts have made her a catchphrase machine, amassing over 200,000 Instagram followers and famous fans that include Justin Bieber. [Jasmine hears gunshots] But, while it’s obvious why she was tapped to return to “Drag Race,” the “jush” queen’s poor record on the show doesn’t put her in good standing against her other more seasoned contestants. That being said, “All Stars” is an opportunity to showcase growth and we’re excited to see how Jasmine’s drag has evolved.
#6: The Lip Sync Assassins Of The Season
Assuming that the rules from “All Stars 2” and 3 will still be in effect, the top 2 queens each week in “All Stars 4” will be expected to lip sync for their legacies, earning the power to eliminate someone else. So, while they’re not lip syncing for their lives, there will still be a lot riding on these performances. With that in mind - who are the biggest threats? Trinity The Tuck was incredibly strong in Season 9, while in the following season, Monet X Change left us gagged at her false death drop. The deadliest of the bunch, however, are Manilla Luzon and Latrice Royale, [Latrice’s “Natural Woman” lip sync] responsible for two of the greatest lip syncs ever.
#5: The Best Snatch Game Performers
With no returning “Snatch Game” winners featured in the cast of “All Stars 4,” the competition is wide open this year. Though it can be hard to tell who will bomb and who will soar, past performances are the best indicators. Though she was hindered by a poor character choice last time, Monique Heart had us laughing all through Season 10 so we’re hoping she’ll redeem herself. Valentina and Trinity also delivered memorable impersonations in their seasons while Jasmine Masters could be a hilarious hot mess. Of the whole cast, we’re tipping Monet and Manila as the ones to beat, particularly as Monet’s gangsta Maya Angelou impersonation earlier this year was so hysterical.
#4: Drama Between Farrah Moan And Valentina
Remember the Season 9 reunion episode? How could you forget! Despite Valentina’s time on the show being cut dramatically short, she became one of the breakout stars of the season. But just as her fans are very vocal about sharing the love for Valentina, her fellow contestants were equally keen to air their grievances with her when the cast reunited. This included her ex-BFF Farrah Moan, who accused Valentina of cutting their friendship off after she left the show. Valentina tried to nip the argument in the bud, but only made things worse: [Valentina to Farrah: “I respect you and love you.” Farrah: “You don’t love me.”] How will this beef affect the Werkroom in “All Stars 4?” Have they put it behind them or will things get dramatic?
#3: Valentina’s Ru-demption
Burying the hatchet with Farrah is something Valentina is going to have to do if she wants her redemption story on “All Stars 4,” and we’re guessing she really does. Before her major lip sync blunder in Season 9, Valentina was one of the frontrunners for the crown. Not only will she be hoping to prove herself capable of delivering a killer lip sync performance - as will Monique, for that matter - but she’ll also be looking to clear her reputation. After all, she’s the most controversial Miss Congeniality winner so far. (Oh, sorry, we mean “Fan Favorite” winner so far. Then again, she does seem to like the sound of the name, “Villaintina…”
#2: Team Latrila Reunited
The first season of “All Stars” forced the returning queens to partner up and compete, something that has since been viewed as a big handicap for some of them. That’s why it’s great to see one of those teams get given a second chance. Together, Latrice and Manila were “Team Latrila,” but they’ll be pitted against each other for their second “All Stars” appearance. If “All Stars” elimination rules are still in effect, will their friendship withstand the pressure? Could one give the other the chop if it came down to it, or will we have another Rolaskatox on our hands? Whatever happens, this old alliance could make this season extra spicy!
Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions.
Monet X Change Or Trinity The Tuck Will Win The Reading Challenge
Jenifer Lewis Will Be The Best Guest Judge
Gia Gunn Will Enter With Her Biggest Purse Yet
#1: The Top Two Will Be Manila Luzon And Latrice Royale
Let’s get down to it: who will be inducted into the “Drag Race” Hall of Fame? We’ve got some seriously talented queens in the mix this season. Trinity made it the Top 4 of Season 9; Naomi Smalls made the Top 3 of Season 8, and Valentina was tipped by RuPaul himself as having the stuff to make it all the way. Perhaps the hungriest of the group will be Manila who just lost out on the Season 3 crown. According to Reddit, she’s also the number one fan pick for the title. But her old teammate, Latrice is also hotly tipped to snatch victory, and deservedly so. We’re predicting a Team Latrila Top 2.
