Where are they now? For this list, we'll be discussing once-prominent singers or groups who have since fallen off the radar. Our countdown includes Dido, Sisqó, Natasha Bedingfield, and more!

#10: Sisqó

He is a platinum blonde R&B singer who wants to see that thong. Lead singer of the group Dru Hill, Sisqó went solo in the late 90’s. His summertime hit, “Thong Song” became a beach classic and he continued on to more success with his follow up single, “Incomplete”, a #1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. But since then, Sisqó has been MIA on the pop scene. In an Oprah interview, he revealed that the reason why he dropped from fame was because of conflicts with his label. But he has kept busy performing with Dru Hill and in 2015 dropped his first solo album since 2001.

#9: JoJo

When JoJo hit the music scene she was barely a teenager, but her distinctive voice was beyond her years. Best known for her singles, “Leave (Get Out)” and “Too Little, Too Late”, she reached gold status by the mid 2000s. Straying from the route of some of the traditional pop princesses, JoJo was memorable for her infectious sound rather than itty bitty outfits. By Mixing R&B, pop, and hip-hop, JoJo’s music was prime for radio play and made her the youngest MTV Video Music Award nominee in history. In 2014, JoJo signed a new contract with Atlantic Records, went on tour and released a new album, Mad Love in 2016, followed up by “Good to Know” in 2020.

Ryan Cabrera is a pop rock singer-songwriter that burst onto the scene in the mid 2000’s. In 2001 he went solo from Dallas acoustic group Rubix Groove and by 2004 found gold with his second album, Take It All Away. Best known for his hit “On the Way Down”, he may be more well known for dating Ashlee Simpson. Ashlee appeared in his music video while Ryan made appearances on her reality TV show. Since then Ryan has continued to make music, and joined the My2K tour in 2016 with other long lost pop groups 98 Degrees, O-Town, and Dream.

Lil' Fizz, J-Boog, and Raz-B and Omarion dominated the pop and R&B charts in the early 2000’s with singles like “Bump, Bump, Bump”. They even became immortalized in the the 2004 film, You Got Served. Shortly after that, things went downhill. The group broke up with 3 members stating that their manager treated them unfairly. Meanwhile, Raz-B wrote a tell all book exploding with serious accusations of his former manager, rumors about several of his bandmates as well as singers like Chris Brown. Then in 2013, he nearly lost his life after trying to break up a fight in a nightclub in China.

#6: Macy Gray

Macy Gray is an R&B, Jazz and Soul singer known for her signature raspy voice. Although she’s appeared in plenty of tv shows and movies, Gray's biggest claim to fame is her 1999 hit “I Try”. The sudden fame brought on by this song sadly sent Macy Gray into a drug addiction while touring. With the poor reception of her third album, Gray struggled to maintain her career in music . But after getting clean, Gray has found her way back to her roots, and has released two albums since to much critical acclaim.

This actor, singer and songwriter got his start in music as part of the boy band, Dream Street. Before that, he was a regular on the soap opera, All My Children. His debut solo album went platinum, backed by the hit single “Beautiful Soul”. His third album featured the single, “Leavin”, which became a big hit in the summer of 2008. Afterwards, McCartney shifted more towards television and film for the next few years. In 2014, McCartney returned to music with his fourth studio album, "In Technicolor" an R&B and pop album that was inspired by music McCartney grew up listening to. He’s since released more tracks and also gave a stunning performance in “The Masked Singer”.

This ballerina turned bohemian singer-songwriter hit right out the box with her debut single, “A Thousand Miles”. Her combination of innocent lyrics with amazing musical talent charmed fans and critics alike. From there, she went on to have the hit “Ordinary Day”, and continued to evolve. Carlton has built a strong working relationship with Stevie Nicks, who even officiated her marriage ceremony with longtime beau John McCauley. Vanessa has steadily worked on her music since then and most recently released her six album with 2020’s “Love Is an Art”.

#3: Dido

This English songstress found fame with her debut album No Angel. Her single “Here with Me” was used as the theme song for the American television sci-fi drama Roswell. American audiences were further introduced to Dido when her single “Thank You” was sampled by Eminem for his hit “Stan”. She released 2 more albums and took a break from music after 2009 due to her marriage and pregnancy shortly afterwards. In November 2013, Dido fulfilled her contract with RCA Records by releasing her Greatest Hits, and went on to release the electronic inspired “Still on My Mind” in 2018.

#2: Michelle Branch

In 2001, the world was introduced to Michelle Branch through her hit single “Everywhere”. Although she was only 18, she had been working on a music career for years. She began singing when she was 3, playing guitar by 14 and had already released an independent album before her major-label debut, the double platinum album,The Spirit Room. Throughout the early 2000s, Branch won praise, commercial success, and even a Grammy for her collaboration with Santana on “The Game of Love”. After 2005, Branch shifted her music to country and performed with The Wreckers, but by 2017 had returned to pop/rock with Hopeless Romantic in 2017. #1: Natasha Bedingfield

This British singer-songwriter is best known for her 2004 pop single, “Unwritten”. But, it wasn't Bedingfield’s first brush with fame and music. Starting off in her family group, The DNA Algorithm, it was actually her brother Daniel who hit the US first with his single “Gotta Get Thru This”. Natasha took the US market by storm a few years later with her single “Unwritten”, which became the most played radio song of 2006. In 2009, Bedingfield got married, and in 2017 gave birth to her first child. Since then, she has continued to tour and released her fourth album “Roll with Me” in 2019.
