Top 10 Most Anticipated Kingdom Hearts III Worlds
Time for us to explore some whole new worlds! Welcome to WatchMojo, and today, we're counting down our picks for the Top 10 Most Anticipated Kingdom Hearts III Worlds!
For this list, we're taking a look at some of the worlds in “Kingdom Hearts III” that we're eager to visit with priority given to the newest worlds for this long awaited title. Also rest assured Kingdom Hearts fans we will not be revealing any worlds that have not been officially announced. Say no to piracy kids.
(Note: I added that extra line as over the weekend it was revealed that copies of the game were stolen and sold on the black market)
“Fantasia” (1940)
This seems like an odd choice, but hear us out. We know that the Mysterious Tower hasn’t been a significant location, at least not outside extensive cutscenes. However, it looks like the Mysterious Tower will be much more eventful this time around. Based on the little bit of footage we’ve seen, “Kingdom Hearts III” might be the first major game in the series that will let us freely explore outside the tower, especially since it’s taking a more open world approach. In any case, one thing we do know is that our boy Riku is back! Yay!
“Kingdom Hearts” series (2002-)
Seeing Destiny Islands really takes us back… Since the first “Kingdom Hearts” launched in 2002, Destiny Islands has become one of the most iconic locations in gaming. There’s the treehouse, the area where you spar against Riku, and, of course, that beautiful beach! Unfortunately, we haven’t gotten to see much of this little island in “Kingdom Hearts III.” One trailer showed a brief snippet to confirm it exists, but we’d love to see that gorgeous water and walk into all of the areas to reminisce the old days. Hey, at least we got a confirmation that the Destiny Islands are in the game.
“Kingdom Hearts” series (2002-)
Like Destiny Islands, the Realm of Darkness has appeared in practically every “Kingdom Hearts” game. Though it featured most prominently in the short game: “A Fragmented Passage”, and Aqua STILL hasn’t been able to escape it. Still, it’s a cool world to look at, and, unsurprisingly, its presence in “Kingdom Hearts III” has been confirmed. We can’t help but wonder what role the Realm of Darkness will play in the story. Will we have to rescue someone? Who will we fight in the Realm of Darkness this time, if anyone? Tragically it may end up being a corrupted Aqua, which also makes us very hesitant.
“Hercules” (1997)
“Hercules” has a had a surprisingly prominent presence throughout the “Kingdom Hearts” franchise. So, of course they would have to keep Mount Olympus around for “Kingdom Hearts III.” And, oh, by the beard of Zeus! It looks incredibly gorgeous! In the movie, we only got to see a little bit of Zeus and Hera’s residence. This, on the other hand, looks like a fully realized version of Mount Olympus! From the fluffy, swirled clouds to the shimmering architecture, we cannot wait to slide down rails and face off against the Titans once more!
“Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise (2003-)
Altogether now - “Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate’s life for me!” The minute Sora sang that song, we knew the Caribbean was returning to “Kingdom Hearts,” and we lost our minds! Our jaws hit the floor when we saw how realistic Jack Sparrow looks. Our excitement doesn’t stop there. You’ll now get to engage in naval combat like the bad egg you are, firing cannonballs at any ships standing in your way! So, if you’re eager to join the pirates for more swashbuckling and sailing the seas, the Caribbean will probably be the highlight of your playthrough.
“Frozen” (2013)
Whether you love or hate that one particular song, it’s hard to ignore some of the wonderful bits awaiting us in the Kingdom of Arendelle. For starters, the world of “Frozen” looks just as beautiful as it did in the movie, from the falling snow to the incredible character models. If that hasn’t sold you on “Frozen’s” inclusion, you might want to look into the sledding portion of the game. Sliding down a snowy mountain has never looked this thrilling! Yes, “Frozen” isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but we’re willing to let it go and have some fun! Wait---AW, dang it! We said it!!!
“Tangled” (2010)
As we see more and more gameplay for “Kingdom Hearts III,” we can tell the game is taking full advantage of the power of current-gen consoles. This is especially apparent in the Kingdom of Corona, which appears absolutely stunning! The forest looks lush and vibrant with its bright colors and detailed textures. One of the coolest parts about this world is that we’ll be able to swing from trees alongside Rapunzel, who’s at her absolute cutest! It may not be one of the most iconic worlds on this list, but Corona should have its own special moments in store for players.
“Monsters, Inc.” (2001)
For many, many years, fans have been clamoring for some Pixar representation in the franchise. Well, the wait is finally over! Alongside another Pixar franchise, the world of “Monsters, Inc.” will be debuting in “Kingdom Hearts III.” Not only do Mike and Sulley look amazing, but Sora, Donald, and Goofy will be sporting new designs as well. On top of that, the Monsters, Inc. factory looks like one of the most fun environments to explore. Seriously, who else thought about sliding down the railings during door storage scene?
“Toy Story” franchise (1995-)
While “Monsters, Inc.” was certainly on our wish list for new “Kingdom Hearts” worlds, the “Toy Story” franchise was at the very top of that list. After being nothing more than scrapped character models, Woody and Buzz Lightyear are officially part of the “Kingdom Hearts” universe. Not only that, but Andy’s Room and the character models look as if they were ripped straight out of the movies! Even the original Galaxy Toys area looks like it could have been made by Pixar! Our trio of goofs are also getting action figure designs, which look pretty cool. Just remember, Sora - you are a toy! You are a child’s play-thing!
“Big Hero 6” (2014)
“Big Hero 6” is one of the most fun movies Disney has made since “Kingdom Hearts II” came out. So, many of us were eager to see if San Fransokyo would be featured in “Kingdom Hearts III.” Our wishes have been granted, and it seems like an absolute blast to play in! From the footage we’ve seen so far, it looks like you’ll have free reign to traverse San Fransokyo while scaling buildings and participating in time trials. Oh, and did we mention you can have Baymax in your party and fly with him? Yeah, we may be spending a few hours in this world... or maybe a few dozen...
