VOICE OVER: Emily Brayton WRITTEN BY: Francesca LaMantia
Script written by Francesca Savoy

These are our favorite Once Upon a Time couples! For this list we'll be looking at the most memorable couples from this fairy tale inspired show. We've included Henry And Violet, Robin and Alice, Zelena And Hades, Aladdin And Jasmine, Henry And Cinderella, Ruby And Dorothy, Belle And Rumplestiltskin, Regina And Robin, Emma and Killian and Snow And Charming.

#10: Henry & Violet

Henry's first love might not have ended in happily ever after, but it was truly something special. Like most first loves it was a bit awkward, but Violet helped Henry grow up, and he taught her about the magic of pop music. Henry’s crush on Violet allowed Snow and Charming some parenting moments that they missed out on with Emma, and it brought Emma and Regina closer, as neither could hide their motherly protectiveness. Of course, it also injected some much needed humor into the show, as the entire town thought that it was just about the most adorable thing ever.

#9: Robin & Alice

Top 10 Memorable Barney & Robin Moments

A couple introduced as part of the season seven soft reboot, these two are a testament to the series’ ability to keep things fresh and interesting, both in the narrative sense and in terms of romance. Though their time together onscreen is short, they have nonetheless proved to be one of the show's strongest later love stories. As the new curse is about to set in, Robin finds Alice so they can spend their last few moments together before they forget who they are, and Alice promises that they will always know each other – even if they don't.

#8: Zelena & Hades

Unfortunately, many great romances end in tragedy - especially when villains are involved. The power of Zelena’s love literally brought Hades back to life. Feeling unloved and unwanted their entire lives, they found what was always missing in each other, and had a real chance to have something beautiful - if only Hades hadn’t been obsessed with revenge. Zelena just wanted to walk away and be happy, but, sadly, he wasn't satisfied with that. In order to save Storybrooke from Hades’ wrath, she, heroically, put sisterly love and self love over her true love, and ultimately, ended up with something even better.

#7: Aladdin & Jasmine

In an inspired change for these two classic characters, Jasmine is a savvy political leader who cons Aladdin into helping her save Agrabah, and Aladdin is a former savior who cut himself from his fate out of fear. Unlike most of the couples on this show, these two spend most of their time running away from each other rather than trying to find each other. But in the end, they realize the best way to save Agrabah is together. Aladdin shows Jasmine that she doesn’t always have to put duty before love, and Jasmine shows Aladdin that he doesn’t have to be the savior to be a hero.

#6: Henry & Cinderella

Though the original storylines of the show centered around Henry trying to save all the people he loved, he was always a little bit out of place as he grew older. As the author, Henry writes everyone else's stories, but he wasn’t living his own. So it was great to see Henry fighting for his own happy ending in the season seven reboot - especially with someone as badass as Cinderella. Her daring nature and realist personality strikes the perfect balance with Henry’s poetic and adventurous soul. In a parallel to the curse that separated his grandparents, Henry is separated from Cinderella, forcing them to seek out true love.

#5: Ruby & Dorothy

This short lived romance may have only lasted the span of one episode, but boy was it one for the story books. It was a wonderful way to end the story of both a new character, and a loved, but forgotten original character. Ruby’s wolfie alter ego didn’t scare off Dorothy. Actually, it appealed to Dorothy’s affection for canine companions. Their adorable nicknames for each other made fans swoon, and like all the great couples on this show, they were able to conquer anything with true love’s kiss.

#4: Belle & Rumplestiltskin

This is the ultimate case of an “opposites attract” type of relationship. Rumple is constantly pulled towards the darkness within him, but Belle always seems to show him the light. A main theme in this show is love turning villains into heroes, but this couple is unlike any other in that Rumple remained one of the shows main villains throughout his relationship with Belle. Yet, no matter how bad Rumple got, Belle always had faith in his potential for good. Don’t confuse her hope for weakness though; she also always put him in his place when necessary. Odds be damned, after many ups and downs her unconditional love eventually turned the beast into a man.

#3: Regina & Robin

All Regina ever wanted was to find her own happy ending, but after all the things she did as the Evil Queen, she started believing that no amount of penance could make that possible. That is, until Robin came along and showed her that even she deserved happiness. An alternate story book page even appears, showing that these two were destined to find each other. But just as it seemed they would be a big happy family, Robin is taken from her in the worst way. As it turns out, that page wasn’t meant for her, but the alternate versions of herself and Robin - leaving Regina to keep searching.

#2: Emma & Killian

With Hook starting out as a villain, it took these two a while to get to a good place. Emma spent a lot of time running from her feelings for Hook, and he spent a lot of time redeeming himself for his past villainy, but they eventually fought for each other and quickly became one of the show’s all time favorite couples. Both struggling with baggage from their damaged pasts, Killian broke down Emma’s walls as she grew to trust him, and Emma showed Killian that he was meant for more than a pirate’s life. Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions: Regina & Daniel Emma & Neal Phillip & Aurora

#1: Snow & Charming

… They are the couple that started it all. Torn apart by multiple curses, these two always find their way back to each other time and time again. They never doubt that their love can conquer any enemy, and even share the same heart. Snow and Charming are the anchor of the show, personifying the type of true love that makes all the other characters believe that their happy endings are out there. Like a real fairy tale, the actors even fell in love in real life.
