This is not surprising, considering there’s now 6 Legoland theme parks, several Lego movies, Lego games and has manufactured a total of 600 billion pieces since the company was founded. Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today we’ll counting down our picks for the Top 10 craziest Lego creations. For this list, we’ll be looking at various Lego construction feats that have pushed Lego mania to new heights, be it with their attention to detail or their obsession with size.

#10: The Tallest Lego Tower in the World

Built in 2015, this tower is more than 110 feet tall! Using the combined efforts of 18,000 people, it was built in Milan, Italy, in 5 days and more than 50,000 spectators came to view the tower during its construction. In total, more than 550,000 multicolored Lego blocks were used to create it. Lego gave around $8 to charity for every centimetre of the tower, which equals out to almost $30,000. Not bad at all!

In 2006, the Allianz Arena was constructed in Berlin for the 2006 FIFA World Cup. A few years later, soccer and Lego enthusiasts decided to build a replica using Lego blocks. After 4,000 hours and 1.3 million Lego blocks, they achieved stunning results. In order to simulate the atmosphere of a real soccer stadium, 30,000 Lego figurines were carefully dispersed throughout and 5,000 LED lights were used to light up the stadium at night, just like it’s real-life counterpart.

#8: The Kennedy Space Center

This extremely complex construction required 2,500 hours of work and 750,000 Lego blocks, stretching across 140 square feet. Exact replicas of each area of the Space Center exist: the Control Center, the Rocket Garden and the vehicle assembly building. There is even a ready-to-launch space shuttle docked to a 9 foot tall Saturn IB booster rocket!

In 1999, Lego brilliantly teamed up with Star Wars for the release of the “Star Wars: Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace.” Although critics may not have loved the prequel, the union between these two giants was particularly profitable and Star Wars toys are now among the most popular of Lego models. The Death Star replica weighs 1,895 pounds and is made up of half a million blocks. It’s definitely the most impressive construction from the Star Wars section of Legoland, which also includes replicas of the Hoth Rebel Base and the Naboo Royal Palace.

Just as full-time mother J.K. Rowling created the Harry Potter universe, this Hogwarts Lego castle was created by another strong woman! It took Alice Finch more than one year to build a true replica of the famous school from the Harry Potter novels. The exterior of the school is stunning, but behind the doors is where the magic happens. In fact, there are all the characters from the series, all the rooms, statues and and moving staircases. The decorations are on point, as are the moving portraits!

Just to get it out of the way, why build a life-size version of this car? Well, simply due to a business partnership. But, damn if it didn’t turn out awesome! Constructed by builders from an elite Lego group, the Volvo XC90 is displayed at the entrance of Legoland in California and weighs more than a ton. It was also used to play a famous prank, where some mischievous park employees had the brilliant idea to replace their boss’ car with the replica.

Within the last few years, 3D printers have skyrocketed in popularity. The process is very simple: you create a three-dimensional image on a computer, which is then cut out in the material of your choice, using a saw or laser. Most 3D printers are used in universities or labs, but it appears that it’s now possible to build one at home, simply by visiting the toy store! The only piece of the machine that is not made out of Lego is the drill, which is used to sculpt the special foam used by the printer.

What’s more impressive than a Lego car? A Lego car that actually runs! It took Raul Oaida and Steve Sammartino almost two years and 500,000 Lego blocks to complete this project. The most fascinating part of this car is obviously the engine, which is powered by compressed air cartridges. The car can go up to 19 mph, but the drivers prefer to drive slowly, since the air pressure could make the engine cylinders explode and cause a huge Lego explosion.

James May, a Brit, along with thousands of volunteers constructed the only livable house made completely out of Lego. The house holds 3.3 million blocks and is 20 feet tall. It has a functional toilet, a running shower and a bed that’s, well, more or less comfortable… It’s also fully furnished with chairs, tables, dishes, and even a cat! Unfortunately, the house was demolished due to a disagreement between Mr. May and the bosses of the British division of Lego. Before revealing our top choice, here are a few honorable mentions. Measuring 42 feet long, the X-Wing is made of over five million Lego blocks, making it the biggest Lego creation in the world. According to Star Wars enthusiasts, it’s even bigger than the ones in the movies! The only drawback is that is doesn’t fly. But one can always dream!
