#10: Patrick Schwarzenegger

Model and actor Patrick Schwarzenegger was born in 1993. When he entered the world he had two sisters, and in 1997 his brother Christopher joined the Schwarzenegger clan. And as far as Patrick was concerned, that was all the siblings he had. Then came 2011, and an article in the Los Angeles Times reporting that in 1997 his father, Arnold Schwarzenegger, had also fathered a child with the family’s housemaid, Mildred Patricia Baena. In fact, Patrick’s half-brother Joseph was born just a few days after his mother gave birth to his brother Christopher.

On November 16th, 2012 Linday Lohan went on “Good Morning America” to promote her Lifetime television movie, “Liz & Dick”. Now, given her history with substance abuse and her ups and downs in Hollywood, she obviously expected that she would get questions about her personal life. However, she never expected to be asked about having a half-sister. Because until the moment the interviewer mentioned it, she didn’t know such a sibling existed. It turns out that just four days prior to the interview, Lohan’s father Michael went on “The Trisha Goddard Show” and took a DNA test that showed he was the father of 17-year-old Ashley Horne.

In a 2013 radio interview, Demi Lovato revealed that she had a half-sister. Now, fans of the singer might be wondering why that’s such a big deal given that everyone knew about her maternal half-sister Madison. Well, the big deal was that Lovato wasn’t talking about Madison. She was talking about a girl named Amber Smith, her half-sister on her father’s side, who Lovato hadn’t known about or talked to until she was 20. It turns out, Amber had held off from contacting Demi, not wanting her to think that she was just after money or fame.

Tunstall knew she was adopted and did eventually track down her birth mother. As for her biological dad, KT went on the British television show “Long Lost Family” for help finding him, but unfortunately he had already passed away. However, along with that sad reveal, the show did also inform Tunstall that she had two younger half-sisters she never knew about.

#6: Tisha Campbell

Liv Tyler was born Liv Rundgren and grew up believing that rocker Todd Rundgren was her father. It made sense, given that her mother was living with Rundgren at the time and that’s what they told her. And Liv had no reason to question it until she was between 8 and 11 years old (the age varies depending on who you ask) and saw Steven Tyler’s daughter Mia at a concert. Liv couldn’t help but notice the resemblance between her and Mia, describing the experience as “like looking at my twin”. When questioned about it, her mother confirmed her young daughter’s suspicions.

Both of Katy Perry’s parents were Pentecostal pastors and she grew up in a very religious household. Her upbringing was so strict that she had to call deviled eggs "angeled eggs". However, in 2012, Katy Perry’s father Keith Hudson was called out for hypocrisy in a big way. You see, Hudson was married once before and had a daughter, Jodi. This fact was revealed to the world after Hudson put out a video telling parents to not “close the door on your children”. Well, when Jodi heard that, she came out with her own statement revealing that was what Hudson had done to her, saying “He completely abandoned me when I was a child.”

Growing up, Bono knew he had one brother. Norman is eight years older than the U2 frontman and was the first child of Iris and Brendan Hewson. However, it wasn’t until 2000, the year before his father passed away that Bono found out he had another sibling - a half brother - the product of an affair his father had with a close family friend. Bono’s mother, who passed away in 1974, never knew of the child. But Bono was able to confront his father about it and work through the issues it raised before he died. In 2018 Lisa Purves, Paula Parsons, Trevor Edwards, Adrian Bowles, and Aaron Fowler all got together in an AirBnB in Toronto, Canada. They were there because they had recently discovered, through DNA test results, that they all shared the same father. His name was Wayde Douglas Bowles, better known as the late professional wrestler Rocky Johnson, and even better known as the father of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Reportedly, his father had pretty much ignored his other children throughout their lives, which meant The Rock never had the opportunity to know them - or even know of them - until the DNA results revealed the truth.
