They can dance, they can sing, they look awesome, but who has the best songs? In this video, MsMojo counts down our picks for the Top 10 Boy Band Song of All Time.
For this list, we're looking at the best songs to come out of all male bands across all genres based on chart success, catchiness and overall popularity. We will only be looking at pop groups where all of the members sing equally, so songs such as Hanson's “MMMBop” won't be featured. Our one song per artist rule applies here, however we will be leaving off covers, as awesome as some of them are.

#10: “All or Nothing” (2001)

Lyrically, this song explores the heartbreak when your partner is thinking about someone else. Its strong opening piano riff, emotional lyrics, and memorable melody helped the song to peak in the top ten of seven countries worldwide. 2001 saw O-Town win the Teen choice award for Best Breakout Artist, and no doubt this powerful love ballad helped them achieve this. The now four piece band still perform it today with the same power and passion as back in 2001 and rightly so, after all it’s an incredible track with strong lyrics and one hell of a chorus.

Rapping and rhyming their way into our ninth spot, we have LFO with this 1999 summer track. This song was huge in '99, but made it's biggest splash in the US where it hit #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and in 2010 was ranked sixteenth in Billboard's list of the biggest summer songs of all time. The song is noted for it's fun but nonsensical lyrics, which see the boys rap about relationships, Macaroni and cheese, Chinese food, Macaulay Culkin, and so many more. It’s truly a staple of summer culture, and is fun, catchy, and inventive.

This guitar led ballad defined the growing maturity and unstoppable success of One Direction. Where the boys lyrically reflect on their journey, heartbreaks, losses and gains throughout their individual lives, the track’s music video plays on the everlasting memories that come with looking at a photograph. The song has an unusual folk sound for the group and uses a catchy guitar opening to transition the tune into an alternative feel, which is comforting and relaxing to listen to. It’s heartfelt, authentic, and was chart topper around the world.

This Motown classic makes a great use of snapping fingers, combined with a perfect combination of bass, drums, and strings courtesy of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra. With the talented vocals of David Ruffin in the lead, The Temptations impress us with their well-choreographed harmonising and creativity with this track. It peaked at number one in the US, and was named by Rolling Stone as the 88thgreatest song of all time in 2004. It was their first of four number ones and we can sure see why.

Chart wise, this is the most successful song on our list, hitting the number one spot in not ten countries, not twenty, but over thirty countries! One of 12 UK number ones for the Take That it is still one of the fastest selling songs of all time. It took home the 1996 Brit award for Best British single, notably beating Oasis’ “Wonderwall”. Whether it’s the classic guitar opening, iconic black and white music video, or flawless vocals of the boys, one thing is for sure, front man Gary Barlow wrote an incredible song.

If anyone was going to nail the perfect vocals on a love ballad, even if it is about heartbreak, it was Boyz II Men. This 1992 track hit the number one spot in Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US and is arguably Boyz II Men’s signature track. It's also a perfect choice for any breakup playlist. The song took home the 1993 Grammy Award for best R&B performance and song, and deservedly so of course. Their vocals shine through the lyrics and work well with the song’s slow pace to create a lasting emotional impact.

Ooo, baby. When a song sells ten million copies worldwide it’s definitely done something right, and the New Kids on the Block totally pulled it off with this slice of pop gold. Scoring the number one spot on the US Hot 100 Billboard, the boys Jonathan, Danny, Jordan, Joey and Donnie did amazing things with this release. Lyrically, the song glorifies the steps it takes to meet their number one girl, with each member of the band singing one step each. It also has an awesome 90s pop flavour that we still love years after its release.

The track saw the band to stay true to their name with their dancing style throughout the music video and their various live performances of the song, always revealing on point choreography. While the song bids farewell to a relationship, we aren’t going to be turning it off any time soon. Lead by the awesome vocals of JC Chasez and Justin Timberlake, this track is a healthy addition to any 90s playlist, or any great playlist really.

They’re arguably the greatest boy band of all time, and with songs like this, “Everybody” and “As Long as You Love me” it's easy to see why.
