VOICE OVER: Sophia Franklin WRITTEN BY: Jesse Singer
These music video kisses are the definition of making beautiful music. For this list, we'll be looking at the sweetest, sultriest, and most romantic smooches that have been featured in music videos throughout the years. Our countdown includes "Paparazzi," "Fools," "Amazing," and more!

#10: “What Do You Mean?” (2015) Justin Bieber

Also in:

Titans In Time - Prey (Official Music Video)

A dark motel room with neon lights is the setting for some steamy smooching between Justin Bieber and model Xenia Deli in the video for “What Do You Mean?” The couple goes back and forth between hot and heavy and sullen and distant, until they get kidnapped. Don’t worry though, it’s all a setup meant to, we imagine, add some excitement back into their relationship. But based on the hot makeout sesh, it probably wasn’t necessary! However, it does lead to a probably unintentional ode to “Aladdin” when he asks her if she trusts him before they jump out a window. So we’re not complaining, and judging by the passionate kiss she gives him, neither is she!

#9: “Paparazzi” (2009) Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga doesn’t make you wait too long for the kiss in this elaborate video. Less than a minute into it, following the opening credits, Gaga is seen on a bed making out with Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgård. The lip-locking eventually moves from the bedroom onto the balcony of the luxury villa. Sure, her boyfriend does try to murder her by pushing her over the railing. But up until that point, we were treated to about a minute of some very steamy kissing. It’s certainly a memorable way to start off a music video. Gaga gets her revenge in the end, and doesn’t seem to mind getting arrested, so it seems like all’s well that ends well?

#8: “Hero” (2001) Enrique Iglesias

Also in:

DragonForce On Video Games, Super Mario, Guitar Hero

Is there anyone out there who wouldn’t emphatically say yes if Enrique Iglesias asked them to dance? Now, imagine if he asked to kiss you? Well, one person who doesn’t have to imagine what that’s like is actress Jennifer Love Hewitt, who portrayed Iglesias’ girlfriend in the video for “Hero.” The two play a criminal couple on the run whose love for each other seems so strong that only death could keep them apart. And although they’re trying to evade capture, they still make time for a super hot moment of passion together on a bed covered with cash. All we have to say is, once again, yes.

#7: “Pillowtalk” (2016) ZAYN

Sometimes it’s the anticipation that makes a great kiss great. The passion, the attraction, the getting close-but-not-yet all intensely lead up to the lips finally coming together, and make it that much more special. That’s pretty much how it goes between Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid in the artsy, kaleidoscopic video for “Pillowtalk.” Okay, let’s be honest here. A kiss between Zayn and Gigi would probably be super great at any point. But the fact that we have to wait until almost the end of the video to finally see them lock lips undoubtedly takes the moment to the next level. You just can’t match that build up!

#6: “Fools” (2015) Troye Sivan

Troye Sivan is a singer, actor and YouTuber who doesn’t shy away from speaking up about the things he believes in. And with “Fools,” the young, gay artist takes on homophobia. The song’s video follows a boy, portrayed by Sivan, and his love for a male friend. But the latter’s father forces them apart. The opening scene powerfully intercuts scenes of the teens kissing with scenes of the dad confronting and hurting his son, seemingly forbidding the relationship to continue. It’s a strong visual statement, backed up by moving lyrics. The pair’s kisses, while already compelling, feel even more meaningful given the story they tell.

#5: “China Girl” (1983) David Bowie

David Bowie wasn’t beating around the bush with his video for “China Girl.” There are no metaphors or subtlety to be found here, folks. To quote Bowie himself, the video was meant to illustrate that “it’s wrong to be racist!” It sees him in a romance with Asian model Geeling Ching, and features a few kissing scenes. The one in the middle of the street where the camera spins around the lip-locked couple never fails to capture our attention. Then there’s their even hotter naked makeout session on the beach as the waves roll in, which seems to mimic a famous “From Here to Eternity” scene. Well, leave it to the late great David Bowie to deliver a powerful statement in the sexiest of ways.

#4: “The Way” (2013) Ariana Grande feat. Mac Miller

All these years later, many of us still remember the kiss between Ariana Grande and the late Mac Miller at the end of the video for her 2013 track “The Way.” Although what we often forget is that the two weren’t a couple at the time. There’s no doubt their chemistry and flirting in the video feels genuine, but the fact is that they didn’t officially become an item until 2016. Miller even spoke to MTV News in 2013 and was quick to confirm that Grande was just his “homey.” Well, with a sultry kiss like that, it’s not hard to understand why they didn’t stay in the “homey” zone for too long!

#3: “Amazing” (1993) Aerosmith

Back before she was the legendary Cher Horowitz in “Clueless,” Alicia Silverstone made waves by starring in three Aerosmith music videos, including “Cryin'” and “Crazy.” In the one for “Amazing,” Silverstone and “Dazed and Confused” actor Jason London go on a wild ride in a VR world. Naturally, their adventures include getting hot and heavy. And amazing really is the only word that could be used to describe Silverstone climbing around and making out with London while he’s riding a motorcycle! It may not be the safest portrayal of operating heavy machinery, and you probably shouldn’t try to recreate the moment. But there’s no denying it makes the video passionate.

#2: “Hands to Myself” (2015) Selena Gomez

Gomez probably didn't initially sing this song with Christopher Mason in mind. But after seeing him in the music video, we would completely understand if she had. In the video, she plays a woman who’s obsessed with the uber-attractive Mason, hanging out in his house and wearing his clothes, among other things. She even rolls around on his bed, fantasizing about the two of them. As you may have gathered, that’s where all the hot kissing happens. In addition to being insanely steamy, the scene also perfectly captures the intensity of her feelings, perfectly leading viewers back into the chorus. At the end of the video, the whole thing is revealed to have been a film. But that doesn’t make the kissing any less alluring! Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. “Toxic” (2004), Britney Spears We’ll Never Look at an Airplane Bathroom the Same Way Again “Under You” (2016), Nick Jonas Shay Mitchell & Jonas Play a Doomed Couple, but Chemistry Isn’t the Issue “Sober” (2008), Pink A Great Lip-lock Between Pink & Pink “Toothbrush” (2016), DNCE Joe Jonas & Ashley Graham Deliver Some Top-Notch Embraces “All of Me” (2013), John Legend Legend Sang the Song for Chrissy Teigen & Their Kissing in the Video Is Downright Steamy

#1: “Wildest Dreams” (2015) Taylor Swift

Also in:

Steve Vai Reacts To His Wildest Career Moments

Most of us couldn’t fathom kissing Taylor Swift or Scott Eastwood, even in our wildest dreams. But those two gave everyone the next best thing by locking lips with each other for Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” music video. They play two actors filming a movie in Africa in the 1950s. The pair fall in love, which leads to, you guessed it, lots of kissing – both on the set and off. Their embraces are romantic, intimate, and just plain heavenly. The only problem is that Eastwood’s character is, well, married. The passion between the two lovers is intense and obvious, which makes the heartbreak that follows that much more believable.
