#10: Dr. Facilier's Robe

Top 10 Satisfying Villain Deaths in Disney Movies - Best of WatchMojo

"The Princess and the Frog" (2009) Soon after getting to New Orleans, Prince Naveen quickly finds himself tricked by the charming but conniving Dr. Facilier. The "Princess and the Frog" antagonist rocks a clever suit and top hat look, which he uniquely wears with more casual undershirts for warm weather. Facilier's purple and red accents his malevolent intentions, while giving a little style and regality to his appearance. The skull designs and staff also fit his death-centric aesthetic and powers, and foreshadow his less than helpful transformation of Naveen. His range of sizes for otherwise formal clothing stretches concepts of class as well, and blends ideas from different backgrounds. So by tapping New Orleans voodoo for his fashion, Facilier gives us Baron Samedi chic that works every day of the week.

#9: Syndrome's Supersuit

Top 10 Movie Characters With Main Character Syndrome

"The Incredibles" (2004) With old heroes disappearing fast, Mr. Incredible eventually ends up in the grasp of the villainous Syndrome. The baddie's large white S is a very bold design choice, but it blends right into his shorts as if the whole suit was one piece of fabric. The S also harkens back to Syndrome's young hero days as buddy, while its size reflects his remarkably inflated ego. His gloves and boots balance out the white from the S too, while giving the mastermind room for his jets and gadgets. Considering how much he flies as well, this infraction on Edna Mode's 'NO CAPES' rule looks good in motion. And though he turns to evil out of neglect, Syndrome's dark design assures he will never be forgotten again.

#8: Jafar's Vizier Robe

"Aladdin" (1992) Though his clothes should give it away, Jafar slowly achieves his evil rule through magic and treachery. His contrasting black and red eschews the malice he tries to hide, while giving him a strong presence overall. Jafar's massive headpiece reflects his sense of status with elegance as well, and also subtly hints at his villainy with its horn-like tips. His mile-long shoulder-pads do well to keep his otherwise meager figure imposing too. With all the gold and red detailing in his outfit, Iago himself helps Jafar accessorize without taking away from his imposing look. If anything, Jafar's over-the-top luxury is a fine example of dressing up for the job you want, even if it gives away your true intentions to the hero.

#7: Governor Ratcliffe's Purple Ensemble

"Pocahontas" (1995) Amongst the settlers encroaching on indigenous land in 'Pocahontas,' General Ratcliffe quickly stands out as their greed-fuelled leader. Based on his breathtaking cape and jewelry alone, Ratcliffe exemplifies luxury over practicality. However this only works to build his character more, as he gets others to do his hard work for him. Ratcliffe's excessive use of pink and purple is stunningly fashion-forward, while it showcases how much he views himself as royalty. The cherries on top however are Ratcliffe's flowing pigtails, topped with stylish bows. These combinations, topped with his massive hat also break a lot of modern gender norms. And with the attitude to tie it all together, Ratcliffe lives and looks like a true diva icon.

#6: The Evil Queen's Dress

Top 10 Disney Henchman Who Aren’t Truly Evil

"Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" (1937) Despite ruling her own kingdom, the queen in "Snow White" desires unparalleled beauty more than anything else. In fact, it's this vain passion for appearances that drives the evil queen to try and kill her stepdaughter, Snow White. The ruler's obsession with looks materializes itself in her tight dress and wing-like sleeve combo, that is somehow sleek and extravagant all at once. Her mix of purple with red detailing also blends elegantly, while signalling her status and more bloodthirsty tendencies too. Though her witchy form is iconic itself, her queenly jewelry and pointed collars take our breath away more. And given how well the Queen brings a dark side to glamour, she's definitely the sharpest dressed one of all.

#5: Queen of Hearts' Dress

Top 10 Movie Moments Where the Queen Bee Gets What She Deserves

"Alice in Wonderland" (1951) In her voyage into Wonderland, Alice runs into a crimson monarch with a short temper. This Queen of Hearts inspires fear in her subjects, thanks to her violent outbursts and overwhelming strength. This might be why her gown has such ambitious patterns and uses of color that could otherwise be deemed improper. Her Highness's card-themed world comes through in her unusual red and black outfit, but it stands as a chic color pairing outside of that too. The queen's gold bottoms combine a lot of smart-looking angular designs as well. The extended edges of the dress also allow her to appear feminine one moment and like a war general the next. Besides, the Queen's heart sceptre alone is enough to leave Alice looking plain.

#4: Gaston's Outfit

"Beauty and the Beast" (1991) When a mysterious beast holds captive the kind-hearted Belle from a French village, the handsome Gaston offers to rescue her. And with his noble looking outfit, you might even mistake the burly local legend for a hero. Though Gaston rocks a simple tunic and leggings, his long top fits right into modern fashion. The formfitting shape and lack of sleeves on his clothes do a great job of showing off his barge-sized physique too. But while his look is mostly red, the gold underside and collar complement each other wonderfully. Plus it's all practical for combat, so only a raving lunatic would deny Gaston's sense of fashion.

#3: Yzma's Purple Dress

Also in:

Top 10 Hilarious Yzma Moments

"The Emperor's New Groove" (2000) Yzma grows tired of advising Cuzco, so she turns him into a llama and kicks him out of his house. Before she does this however, we catch a glimpse of Yzma's flashy personality from just her choice of frock on the throne. On top of her already smooth purple dress, the advisor's black cape and shoulderpiece lets her appear commanding and ready for the club simultaneously. You can practically spot her lizard-like frill accessory from a mile away, which accentuates her diva-sized personality well. And with matching armbands, earrings and a headpiece, Yzma accessorizes like a starlet. No wonder she decides to remodel Cuzco's home in her own image.

#2: Cruella de Vil's Fur Coat

Also in:

The Evolution of Cruella de Vil

"One Hundred and One Dalmatians" (1961) In her quest to stay stylish and make a fortune off of coats too, Cruella de Vil attempts to harvest the Radcliffes' large collection of Dalmatian puppies. While visiting though, she shows off a look that screams evil and haut couture together. Despite her already snazzy cocktail dress, de Vil's fur coat is a delicious monument to extravagance. The sharp white is contrasted with red lining and gloves to match. And the colorful detailing is all doubled in her accompanying purse and her one-of-a-kind split hairdo. Heck, she even turns her cigarette holder into doubly evil and chic item. So for someone who literally kills for fashion, it's not surprising Cruella de Vil powerfully highlights every part of her outfit. Before we get to our top pick, here are some honorable mentions: Mother Gothel's Dress "Tangled" (2010) Lady Tremaine's Dress "Cinderella" (1950) Hades' Robe "Hercules" (1997) Captain Hook's Red Suit "Peter Pan" (1953) Judge Claude Frollo's Robe "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" (1996)

#1: Maleficent's Dress

Also in:

Maleficent (2014) VS Cruella (2021)

"Sleeping Beauty" (1959) In an otherwise cheery kingdom, the dastardly Maleficent turns against the royals and curses Princess Aurora. Throughout her appearances, Maleficent displays her elegance through one of Disney's longest trains committed to film. All the purple frill on her black gown is to die for, especially as the torn look of it plays to her sinister intentions. Maleficent's horned headpiece represents her dragon side, but it also gives her a distinct look next to many simply dressed folk around her. She color matches her staff to her eyes as well, but it's the sharp look of her green magic that proves just how versatile her dress truly is. Regardless of how menacing her dragon transformation is, Maleficent's frock effortlessly complements that look too.
