We'll be looking at the most creative, entertaining, and all around memorable Demi Lovato music videos. We're not including videos where she made a cameo or was the featured artist. Some of her best videos include Don't Forget, Heart Attack, Cool for the Summer. Sorry Not Sorry, Stone Cold, Really Don't Care and Confident!

#10: “Skyscraper” (2011)

A video can be worth a thousand words. The simplicity of this music video allows viewers to focus on the message of the song, which is Lovato overcoming her inner demons and learning how to stand back up again after she’d fallen. The deserted Bonneville Salt Flats serves as a unique background to the music video, with very little props used and most of the video focusing on Lovato’s face. With simple but powerful symbols like the heart in a box scene and the singer walking over broken glass, the video tells a story of the road to recovering from the “toxicity” that she had struggled with in the past.

#9: “Don’t Forget” (2009)

Nothing sets the scene like a little rain at a carnival. Beginning this heartrending melody in her tour bus, the feeling of loneliness filters into the entirety of the video. Walking in the rain alone and singing about a love lost, Demi ends up in front of an empty carousel in a seemingly abandoned theme-park. The video changes gears with its enthusiastic stage climax in the middle of the pouring rain, but the energetic performance can’t quite shake the feeling of loss the song is about. Ending up alone once again in the tour bus, the single tear trailing down Lovato’s cheek was an easy to miss but powerful conclusion.

#8: “Give Your Heart a Break” (2012)

When you really love somebody, a little extra work isn’t all that bad. After an argument with her on-screen boyfriend, the music video for this love song centers around the singer piecing together snapshots from their past in an effort to win him back. Between scenes of Demi putting together photographs and flashbacks of when those photos were taken, this video is heartwarming to watch. Finishing off with a final product that makes even Demi’s video-boyfriend’s jaw drop, the photo collage at the end is both impressive from an artistic perspective as well as a feel-good way to say “I love you”.

#7: “Heart Attack” (2013)

Singing about fighting what she really wants on the inside, the use of black and white contrast in this music video works as a visual representation of Lovato’s internal struggle. Knowing that she’s falling in love with the subject of the song and trying desperately to fight it, the video alternates between the stark white close up of Demi’s face and stained black hands, to the neon-lit hallway filled with black leather. Relatively simple in its videography, the video still manages to pack a visual and creative punch when it comes to symbolism and the use of only two major colors. Sometimes, simple is best.

Centered around the journey of two American teenagers who meet and fall in love at a carnival, this video is both upbeat and an emotional roller coaster, all in one. Switching between the flashbacks of the young soldier and his girlfriend to scenes of their letters to each other and his time serving overseas, the lyrics about the tenacity of a love “made in the USA” keeps viewers hoping that one day he’ll come home safe and sound. In the climax of the video, the young girl watches lightning flash out of her window, the soldier experiences the same flashes in gunfire in a mirror style of cinematography - coming home to her and giving audiences the happy ending they were rooting for.

Besides being set to one of Lovato’s most vocally and emotionally impactful songs, the music video for her broken-hearted melody is just as visually unforgettable. Alternating between scenes of the singer struggling through deep snow or sitting in a bathtub fully clothed, what really makes this video memorable is the look of pure grief on Lovato’s face throughout it. Close up shots put her expression in the spotlight, and the struggle of trying to accept someone you love with someone else is evident in every line on her face. This video is as unique and original as it is a statement. Filmed on-location at the LA Pride Parade, the video kicks off with Demi telling parade-goers that they don’t have to hate, because “her Jesus loves everyone”. Breaking into song on her float, she delivers a message to her audience that regardless of what others might think of their beliefs or actions, they really don’t have to care. An inspiring performance that aims at lifting others up instead of putting them down, the music video was praised by the LGBTQ+ community and made the 2014 Pride one to remember. Before we reveal our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions. “Remember December” (2010) “La La Land” (2008) “Neon Lights” (2013)

#1: “Confident” (2015)

Action movie, or music video? A little bit of both. A drama-packed short film from its beginning, the video revolves around the story of convict-turned-bounty hunter Demi, betrayal after betrayal, and a whole lot of girl power. Teaming up with guest star Michelle Rodriguez to take down a crooked US Marshall, the empowering soundtrack of the song blares behind the singer jumping through windshields, wielding a shotgun, and kicking some serious behind every step of the way. Who knows, maybe Demi will end up on the silver screen in the next action flick. Do you agree with our list? Which of Demi’s music videos do you like the best?
