Top 10 Actors Who Need To Make a Movie Together

Aw man, if those two made a movie together, it’d be the best! Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’re counting down our picks for the Top 10 Actors Who Need to Make a Movie Together. For this list, we’ll be looking at actors and actresses that have done a phenomenal job on the big screen in their own separate careers, but for some reason have not shared the spotlight with each other - yet. We’ll try to get an idea of what type of masterpiece the pair could create. Also, if the two actors were in a movie together but were never in the same scene, they’re still eligible. Now let’s get started.

#10: Daniel Day-Lewis & Ralph Fiennes

Also in:

Top 10 Daniel Day-Lewis Performances

Daniel Day-Lewis is the type of actor who takes precious time to prepare for a role. And considering that, as of the beginning of 2016, he’d only been in five films since the new millennium started, it’s safe to say that Day-Lewis likes to make sure his films are the best that they can be. Fiennes, on the other hand has been in a flurry of films since 2000, including mega hits like the “Harry Potter” franchise and “Skyfall.” Taking Ralph’s recent success and Daniel’s dedication to his art into consideration, bringing these two together would likely result in the most flawless, yet deeply introspective film of the 21st century.

#9: Jack Black & Zach Galifianakis

Also in:

Top 10 Jack Black Roles

We had to throw some comedians in here somewhere, and these are the two that fit the bill. Jack excels at pretty much any type of comedy, whether it’s aimed at a younger audience or the mature demographic. Conversely, Zach has much of his well-known humor understood by the adult age range. If you imagine Jack’s character from “Tropic Thunder” and Zack’s character from “The Hangover,” it could be hilarious watching those two going out and partying their lives away. Or, since their names rhyme, what about a movie where they have their own show. The Jack & Zach Show, huh? Huh?

#8: Ryan Reynolds & Ryan Gosling

Also in:

Top 10 Movie Moments That Made us Fall in Love with Ryan Gosling

We all know Ryan Gosling as the dreamy guy your girlfriend thinks about while she's putting up with you all day long. Ryan Reynolds, meanwhile, seems like a nice guy to play darts with. A Reynolds/Gosling lead film is a hit waiting to happen and since they're both Canadian, it could be done on the cheap with tax credits galore! Just picture the 2 Ryans as hunky PEI potato farmers, hunky BC pot farmers, hunky Saskatchewan wheat farmers, hunky Quebec maple syrup farmers, or even hunky Nova Scotian lobster farmers! You know you wanna…

#7: Robert Downey Jr. & Johnny Depp

Also in:

Top 10 Robert Downey, Jr. Performances

These two are some of the most skilled, successful and attractive male stars of their generation. And they’ve shown their acting ranges by playing eccentrics, men of action, romantic leads and more – with their multiple Oscar nods and other award wins proving how much talent they’ve got. Robert Downey Jr.’s sarcastic wit with Johnny Depp’s more unique sense of humor could be paired together to make quite the comedy. Or better yet, studios could draw on each actor’s sense of loyalty to their past roles, which they’ve shown by their willingness to play a specific character on multiple occasions with the same dedication each time. They could create a franchise that’ll give us the best of both worlds.

#6: Matthew McConaughey & Margot Robbie

Also in:

Top 10 Matthew McConaughey Performances (REDUX)

Now Matthew McConaughey and Margot Robbie were already in the 2013 film “The Wolf of Wall Street” together, but since their characters never crossed paths, they are fine for this list. Around 2012, McConaughey reported that all of his movie roles were becoming too similar and that he wanted to try something new. So, one film he COULD try is a “rags to riches” type of film. You know, let’s say one in which someone poor, or even homeless, takes off his shirt and becomes very wealthy. Margot Robbie would fit right in with Matthew as his loyal girlfriend that sticks with him through thick and thin, with or without money. But probably without shirt.

#5: Will Smith & Tom Cruise

Also in:

Top 10 Overpaid Actors

These two actors are already good buddies. So much so that Tom Cruise reportedly played Hide and Seek with Will Smith anda few other guests at Tom’s home once. Since their chemistry is already so great, it’s shocking that these two haven’t made a multi-million dollar mega-hit with each other yet. Will’s versatility and ability to make you laugh or cry, and Tom’s eccentric style and prowess as an action hero, would be the perfect match for a sci-fi or war film featuring the two as partners. Think Edge of Tomorrow 2 or I, Robot 2 or even Mission Impossible 27, perhaps?

#4: Leonardo DiCaprio & Christian Bale

Also in:

Top 10 Movie Moments that Made Us Love Leonardo DiCaprio

It’s Mr. “I’M THE KING OF THE WORLD” and Catwoman’s love interest, Bruce Wayne! Now we don’t know about you, but the first person we think of after hearing both DiCaprio’s and Bale’s names is Christopher Nolan. How on Earth has Nolan not contacted these two and told them of an incredible, mind-blowing, plot-twisting screenplay that he has in mind and wants them both to star in? If Nolan already has that film in mind, then hopefully he has these two actors on speed dial, because we all know the film they make together would be one for the ages.

#3: Jack Nicholson & Nicolas Cage

Also in:

Heath Ledger vs. Jack Nicholson as The Joker

They’re two of the most over-the-top actors in the game. From “Here’s Johnny” to “Ahhhh, not the bees”, there’s no denying that these thespians can produce some iconic moments, good and bad. In the same spotlight, Jack Nicholson and Nicolas Cage would most likely either be portraying crazed serial killers, or actual friends engaging in wild and insane activities for the enjoyment of the fans. Remember when Nicholson starred in “The Bucket List” several years ago? Well, if he has a real life bucket list, here’s hoping that “making a movie with Nicolas Cage” is on there somewhere.

#2: Harrison Ford & Clint Eastwood

Also in:

Top 10 Harrison Ford Performances

"Get off of my lawn! Get off of my plane!!!" – One’s the King of Western films and one’s the King of Treasure Adventure films. These two together would make the ultimate gun-slinging and whip-snapping action flick of the modern day. Just make sure to remove Shia Labeouf and any cheesy CGI animals from anywhere near them. They could be in other genres though, such as sci-fi, which we know would be excellent since Ford played Han Solo in “Star Wars,” or crime drama as demonstrated by Eastwood’s performance in “Gran Torino.” But really, the box office hit would most likely be these two hunting for treasure, and whipping some bad guys while they were doing it. Before we reveal our number one pick, here are some honorable mentions. J. K. Simmons & Tommy Lee Jones Emma Stone & Jennifer Lawrence Christopher Walken & John Lithgow

#1: Julia Roberts & Sandra Bullock

Also in:

Top 10 Julia Roberts Performances

Oh yes! These two definitely need to make something happen. For the 2009 comedy film “The Proposal,” Julia Roberts was approached for the job but passed – reportedly due its sub-Roberts paycheque. Somehow, the SAME thing happened in the SAME year for “The Blind Side.” Sandra Bullock took on both roles in Roberts’ place and received massive critical acclaim. With all that said, why don’t they just make a movie together? Okay, so maybe you'd have to pony up some serious cash for Julia Roberts. If that means tension with Sandra Bullock, then make them on-screen enemies – built-in bonus! So, as long as the money is right, then lights, camera, action! Do you agree with our list? Which two actors do you think need to join forces on the big screen? For more cooperative top 10s published every day, be sure to subscribe to WatchMojo.com.
