The Top 10 Conspiracies of All Time
VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton
Conspiracy theories start out small: one person voices his or her doubt about a certain event. They then snowball and pretty soon they're mainstream news. There are often conspiracy theories surrounding huge disasters and important assassinations, but there is no shortage of speculation on any number of events. From the deaths of JFK and Princess Diana, to the collapse of the Twin Towers, the 2004 tsunami and even the moon landing, no huge event is immune to the conspiracy theory. In this video, http://www.WatchMojo.com counts down the Top 10 Conspiracy Theories of all time.

On December 26th, 2004, a tsunami devastated South Asia. Most people chalked this disaster up to Mother Nature gone wild, but some suspected something more nefarious. A military experiment by either the U.S. or another world government was to blame. Whether the motives were based on oil, mass human extermination or they were simply concerned with seeing the effects of a disaster on the earth, this conspiracy theory has gained traction.

Roswell and Area 51 are both inextricably linked to the idea of alien life on earth. Supposedly, in 1947, an alien spacecraft crashed in Roswell, New Mexico. Later, the debris from this ship was taken to Area 51, where alien autopsies and reverse engineering of the spacecraft took place. The U.S. government denied the existence of Area 51 until July 14th, 2003, but there is no doubt it is the world’s most famous top secret military base.

3 - Moon Landing

The Warren Commission found that Oswald acted alone; we might never know the truth for sure.

When the Twin Towers fell on September 11th, 2001, a voracious conspiracy theory was initiated. Some believed the U.S. government had fair warning about the attacks, and that these warnings were ignored by the Bush administration so they would have a motive for initiating wars in the Middle East. This 9/11 Truth Movement did not believe the official inquiry into 9/11, and maintained that the World Trade Center should not have collapsed.
