Jim Donovan grew up in Los Angeles, where his love of films and filmmaking began. After a move to Canada, Donovan eventually pursued his chosen career. After finishing a Film Studies program at the University level, he took a job at a local television station doing any and all jobs possible. He finally started using his time off to direct music videos and experimental short films, which gained him the attention of the advertising industry.
