Top 20 Mortal Kombat Fatalities

Welcome to MojoPlays, and today, we’re looking at the 10 Most Overpowered “Mortal Kombat” Moves. Like any other fighting game, “Mortal Kombat” holds a plethora of moves some would call broken or flat out insufferable. Which cheap shot had you foaming at the mouth? Let us know in the comments below.

Shang Tsung’s Flaming Skull Eruption

Shang Tsung has been known to be a deceitful sorcerer, and that reputation shows in his moveset. He can impersonate his opponent and use their own moves against them, and as of “Mortal Kombat 11”, he can use some of the same moves as Smoke, Ermac, Reptile and Rain. However, nothing is more frustrating than getting hit by his Flaming Skull Eruption. The move is almost unreadable as it spawns beneath his victims. It can hit up to three times while setting his opponent up for further juggling, which can make it very frustrating to get out of.

Dairou’s Tombstone Drop

Joke characters typically have the most ridiculous moves to make every hit feel like a sucker punch. Dairou is not a joke character, and yet he has one of the dumbest moves in “Mortal Kombat: Deception”. All he does is fall onto the floor so hard that it causes his opponent to launch into the air. What’s worse is that this move is effective so long as the victim’s feet are on the ground, meaning you can launch them regardless of how far away they are. It is absolute nonsense, and the quick recovery makes it way too easy for Dairou to spam.

Kabal’s Raging Flash

No, this isn’t a blinding light, or something involving a trenchcoat and screams of shock and horror. All Kabal does is rush towards his opponent, hitting them so hard that they spin out of control. Not only does it feel like a total sucker punch, it leaves you open for an ungodly long time. There’s almost no pressure on Kabal to get cracking on whatever B-S juggle he’s wanting to pull off. He can take his sweet time setting up before you even get a chance to retaliate. Hey, buddy - Sonic the Hedgehog called; he wants his gimmick back!

Jax’s Gotcha Grab

10 Shameless Mortal Kombat Knock Offs

Long has Jax’s “Gotcha” Grab caused the downfall of players, and it's because of a few infuriating aspects of the move. First of all, there’s the fact that recent titles have given Jax additional moves to use after grabbing his victim. Then, you have the three different versions of it - the standard version, the Super “Gotcha” that deals more damage, and then, the Air “Gotcha” to counter aerial attacks. More often than not, you’ll be hearing “Gotcha” a lot when fighting a Jax user, and it may get you a little heated. And God help you if you get caught in a loop.

Mileena’s Rolling Thunder

What many players love (and loathe) about Mileena is her mobility. She can move around like a kid hopped up on sugar, teleporting every which way possible. Her Rolling Thunder keeps her mobile on the ground too, but this is where things get frustrating. We’re talking about a low attack that can launch opponents into the air, giving her ample time to start a string. There’s very little room for punishing her upon block, too. The move is at its worst in MKX, though, as Mileena can use two Enhanced versions of it that grant her armor and a second consecutive roll.

Sheeva’s Death From Above

Aren’t ground moves just the absolute worst? We’ll never get over Dairou’s Tombstone Drop, but Sheeva has been making us pull our hair out since appearing in MK3. Sheeva has an unblockable move that only requires two inputs to pull off. Just a simple down-up input will make her leap into the air and land on top of her opponent. Your only means of defense is to try to step out of the way, which is easier said than done. As one would expect, this move can get really freakin’ annoying, and you can expect the AI to use it almost all the time.

Scorpion’s Hellfire Punch

How Scorpion And Sub-Zero Became Friends

The vengeful ninja of the Shirai Ryu holds a few moves that’ll anger even the most patient “Mortal Kombat” players. Of them all, his Hellfire Punch is bound to enlarge your thyroid. In case you haven’t found yourself on the receiving end of this, Scorpion quickly teleports offscreen and reappears behind you, punching you away. While you can block this, it happens so quickly that you get very little time to react accordingly. It doesn’t help that Scorpion can quickly recover from this either. Best hope you’re fighting a more honorable Scorpion player.

Noob Saibot’s Disabler

Bi-Han’s got an arsenal of moves to get under anyone’s skin. (Anyone else hate the Teleport Slam and his version of Scorpion’s Hellfire Punch?) But you know what’s his most annoying ability? It’s a ranged attack known as the Disabler. Noob will fire a projectile, and if the hit connects, his victim will be temporarily unable to utilize any special moves and blocking. To make your life even more miserable, it’s also unblockable and can remove a bar from your Offense and Defense meters in MK11. Needless to say, Noob is clearly for the griefers and sadists. (You bet the salt is real here!)

Terminator’s Terminate

The funny thing about Terminator is that the move in question here isn’t an actual attack, but rather a buff. With the Terminate ability, old Arnie here can ignore just about any attack thrown, at the expense of a bar from both Offense and Defense meters. This means that he can use just about any attack that would put him at great risk and face almost zero repercussions. The only ways you can counter this are with parries, Fatal Blows, and any moves that can ignore armor. When coupled with the right augments, you can buff this further and increase damage resistance AND duration, making it one of the most broken moves in MK11.

Erron Black’s...Everything

If you like zoning, Erron Black is your new toy. If you can’t stand zoning characters, well...meet your worst nightmare. Erron Black has all sorts of moves that’ll cause you to break your controller. He can create puddles of acid to cause lingering damage, shoot his pistol and rifle from across the screen, and pull off a dropkick so fast it puts pro wrestlers to shame. In other words, the guy has almost total control of the battlefield at all times, and it’s caused the community to heavily debate if the character really is broken. Whose idea was it to put a six-shootin’ cowboy in “Mortal Kombat” anyways!?
