Everything You Should Know About Shift 2: Unleashed It’s the 17th Installment in the long-running Need for Speed franchise. Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’ll be exploring everything you need to know about Shift 2: Unleashed. Developed by Slightly Mad Studios and Electronic Arts for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, it is a racing sim that has now become its own video game series, and expands upon the exciting feel and features of the 2009 original. Not only undergoing a massive graphical overhaul, Shift 2 expands on every aspect possible, including upping the amount of playable cars to 145 unique vehicles. These have been created by 36 different manufacturers, and will blaze across 35 jaw-dropping tracks. As a result, you will now be able to tear into some of the world’s most iconic real-world raceways, as well as many fictitious courses. You will not only do this in the daytime, but also during the night with low visibility. As long-time race fans might expect, you will traverse locations like London, Miami and Tokyo, burning rubber and leaving your tire tracks behind you as you scorch the pavement. More importantly, Shift 2 hosts an impressive selection of the hottest and most elite high-performance vehicles in the world. It not only delivers the biggest car list ever created for a Need for Speed game, but also the most immersive racing experience to date, with realistic automobile performance and advanced visual customization. Even more spectacular are the true-to-life crash physics, and a helmet-cam that reproduces the look and feel of real head movements. Not content with just giving you a straight-forward sequel, Shift 2 also recreates the 2010 FIA GT1 World and FIA GT3 European Championships, and incorporates the popular Autolog feature from “Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.” This allows you to connect with your friends for head-to-head races to gather experience points, and forge stats for intense social competition. As a fully independent spin-off franchise, Shift 2 is aimed at winning over simulation fans that crave a premium real-world racing experience.
