From its origins as a tool to rank the looks of Harvard grads, to its sordid legal mess with the Vanderhook brothers, the Beacon PR mess to Russia's meddling in US elections, Facebook has consistently done the wrong thing but benefited nonetheless. We created a monster in Facebook, but conditioned it to continue on its course, so why are we surprised it's destroying everything in sight?
