7 Things You Should Know About Singularity Get ready to fight the past in order to save the future. Welcome to WatchMojo.com and today we’re exploring the 7 Things you should know about “Singularity.” Number 1: A Tear In Time Top-secret Cold War experiments by the Russians have caused a bizarre catastrophe in the 1950s called “The Singularity.” This phenomenon has torn open space-time and caused the island caught between the past and present. Number 2: The Protagonist and Plot Sent to investigate the unknown energy readings on the island “Katorga-12”, you inhabit the role of downed fighter pilot Nate Renko. Regaining consciousness, you discover a Time Manipulation Device and the presence of a mysterious stranger over the radio. Unaware of the extent of your predicament, you begin by trying to find your missing co-pilot, before realizing that you will have to prevent the creation of the singularity before you can escape the deadly island. Number 3: Deadly Inhabitants During your quest to save time itself, you will encounter hostile Russian forces, hideously mutated species and former residents of the island who have developed the means to control time as well. Number 4: Revert, Age and Large-Scale Reversion As you progress, several time manipulation abilities will become available to you. Among the most helpful is the ability to move items and people back and forth through time. For example, this will allow you to revert a broken item to its former state. On the other hand, reverting a person will cause side-effects, such as having them become primal. And the opposite is true, you can also move things forward in time in order to degrade them, or cause foes to age into dust before your eyes. Adding to these abilities, you will also encounter several scattered power-up stations. These will allow you to restore entire old structures to their original pristine state. However, these major time alterations are unstable and will begin to revert quickly. So you better be prepared to dash through the structures before they start to decay and collapse. Number 5: Stasis and Deadlock Showing how varied your time arsenal is, your device can also freeze an item or individual enemy in a “stasis” field. While you will also have the power to encompass enemies in a temporal field called “Deadlock”. Once in the bubble, enemies will be frozen and completely vulnerable to your deadly attacks. Number 6: Chrono-Light and Impulse Something you won’t be seeing in other games is the ability to use a temporal beam called the Chrono-light. This allows you to see objects in other time periods by shining a beam on them. You can also use the device to send out an impulse that causes targets to fly with a burst of temporal energy. Number 7: Health, Power-Ups and Multiplayer Unlike other modern first-person shooters Singularity will not feature a regenerating health system, and instead make use of a traditional life bar. Ironically, this is to ensure that the player slows down and takes their time with the experience. And as if the game wasn’t packed with enough features, you will also be able to battle your friends and strangers online in several time-orientated multiplayer modes. Conclusion While temporal mechanics have been played with in the past, this game is the future of the genre. So pick up your time device and take on the Singularity, while you still have time.
