Welcome to MojoPlays, and today, we’re taking a look at the 10 Times Spider-Man Infiltrated Other Games! Spidey has appeared in a wealth of games over the last several decades, but there were some areas we did not anticipate to find him in. Which of these surprised you the most? Let us know in the comments.

“Fortnite” (2017)

7 Times Fortnite Players Got SCAMMED

Of all the games we’ll be going over in this video, “Fortnite” was the least surprising. By the time Spider-Man joined the battle royale, we had already seen a plethora of other guest characters like Master Chief, Kratos, the Avengers, Batman, and many, many more. It was only a matter of time before the webslinger made an appearance. In fact, Chapter 3, Season 1 was pretty much dedicated to Spider-Man as we not only got the character, but a web-covered Daily Bugle was one of the landmarks on “Fortnite’s” constantly-changing map. Players could even get their own hands on a pair of gloves to swing to their next destination.

“X2: Wolverine’s Revenge” (2003)

We will admit that we’re kind of cheating with this one as it didn’t make it into the final game (sort of), but it’s still a nice window into what could have been. On the home console version, you will need to collect all of the dog tags to unlock a special deleted scene. At some point in the story, there was going to be a moment where Spider-Man would show up, tease Logan a bit, and patrol outside of the area Logan was going into. Best part about this scene? Rino Romano voiced Spidey just as he did in the PS1 “Spider-Man” games.

“LittleBIGPlanet” series (2008-)

Back when “LittleBIGPlanet” was exploding on the PS3, players saw a wealth of costumes based on various other franchises across video games, movies, and television. The Marvel packs, in particular, were exceptionally popular, and understandably so. Across the four Marvel packs, users got costumes based on Spider-Man, Venom, Green Goblin, and Doctor Octopus. You got these at a steal, too, as the costumes were compatible with “LittleBIGPlanet 2” and even the racing spin-off, “LittleBigPlanet Karting”. Basically, you got DLC across 3 games for the price of ONE! Good deal!

“Marvel’s Avengers” (2020)

As most Marvel fans are aware, Spidey has always been that “unofficial Avenger” before finally becoming an Avenger. Unfortunately, Spidey’s inclusion here was not at all flattering for fans. While we were given an extensive campaign lasting a small handful of hours, controlling our favorite webhead could have been a lot better. How bad was it exactly? Well, let me put it like this - “Fortnite” had better web-swinging than “Avengers”. Seriously, man, what happened with this game? Why is Spidey zipping around with silly string?

“Lego Marvel’s Avengers” (2016)

Many would argue “Of course Spidey would be here - it’s a Marvel game! Why is this even on the list??” Well, the thing about “Lego Marvel’s Avengers” is that this game was centered on the 2012 “Avengers” movie and its sequel, “Age of Ultron”. Our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man wasn’t added into the game until a few months after the game launched. However, they did base his appearance off of his MCU outing in “Captain America: Civil War”. So, he did end up fitting the theme of the game after all!

“The Revenge of Shinobi” (1989)

Now, this would have to be the weirdest iteration of Spider-Man we have ever seen. Gamers who grew up in the late 80’s can recall a time where SEGA was belting out games for both Marvel and DC Comics. As their licenses were expiring, SEGA figured they would take advantage of the situation and throw in Spidey as a boss character in “Revenge of Shinobi”. But what really threw us off was him suddenly transforming into Batman. To this day, we can hear the hyperactive screams of excitement from a whole generation of kids. “Disney Infinity 2.0” (2014)

Top 10 Disney Video Games

Prior to its 2.0 release, “Disney Infinity” was very much a Disney-only game, allowing players to take control of their favorite Disney characters and create fun games with the Toybox Mode. With 2.0 came the addition of not just more Disney characters, but Marvel characters as well. You could now build games with the Guardians of the Galaxy, the Avengers, and yes, Spider-Man, too. The only downside to this was that he’s voiced by Drake Bell. It made sense at the time given he was the most recent voice for the webhead, but certain events in recent years have made the inclusion a bit more of a “yikes” moment.

“X-Men: Mutant Academy 2” (2001)

As we saw with “X2”, Spidey will cross paths with the likes of Wolverine from time to time, but he seems to do so at unexpected times. “Mutant Academy 2” was another one of those times. What’s strange about this outing was that “Mutant Academy 2” had a roster composed entirely of X-Men members. You had Wolverine, Storm, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, all the usual suspects. And then, you had Spider-Man for some reason, and he is arguably the hardest character to unlock. You will have to keep playing Arcade mode until he appears. Emerge victorious, and you’ll be able to play as him by holding L1 and selecting Cyclops.

“The Punisher: The Ultimate Payback!” (1991)

Again, Peter Parker seems to make a habit out of appearing in games starring other Marvel characters. When it comes to X-Men, we can look the other way. But Punisher? It’s quite the curveball. In this Game Boy shooting gallery, Spidey appears in the first level to brief you on the plan and reappears later to save hostages while you bring down the criminals.

Yeah, you were all waiting for us to get to this. We get it, though. This is Spider-Man’s most iconic cameo in video games. The circumstances were just too absurd to ignore! This was a video game where you could play as SPIDER-MAN and skate alongside the legendary TONY FREAKIN’ HAWK! We know that there were many other guest characters to be featured throughout the THPS franchise, but honestly, how can you top Spider-Man? You just can’t, especially when he’s pulling off some sick tricks of his own.
