Known as the Juice, Simpson was one of the biggest names in NFL history, collecting many, many accolades during an outstanding career before moving into acting and broadcasting. Yet, in 1994, the country was shocked when he was arrested for murdering his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, and her friend Ron Goldman. Dubbed the “Trial of the Century,” Simpson was found not guilty. However, in 1997, he was found liable for wrongful death in a civil case and ordered to pay $33.5 million to Goldman’s family. In 2007, Simpson’s reputation was further wrecked when he was arrested for armed robbery at a hotel-casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was found guilty and sentenced to 33 years before being released on parole in 2017.
