Top 20 Ridiculously Extravagant Celebrity Engagement Rings

#20: Catherine Zeta-Jones
This rock doesn’t just signify their union — it represents the beginning of one of Hollywood’s strongest power couples. When Michael Douglas proposed to Catherine Zeta-Jones in 1999, he did so in style. He presented the actress with a gorgeous, side-set marquise diamond. The platinum-set sparkler came in at a whopping 10 carats. The ring featured even more gems in a halo beneath the centerpiece and along the band. It’s valued around two million dollars today. Even more over-the-top than the price is the historical backstory. It’s reportedly inspired by the features of Madame de Pompadour, a former partner of King Louis XV of France. With romantic lore like that, it’s no wonder why their love is still going strong decades later.
#19: Grace Kelly
Without this, some of the most iconic celebrity bling we know and love might not exist the way we know them today. Grace Kelly’s marriage to Monaco’s Rainier III was a media spectacle. The ring he gave her prior to the event was as well. The Cartier-designed jewelry featured a 10.48-carat emerald-cut diamond, which stunned in comparison to the more modest band he’d initially proposed with. The iconic rock had plenty of screen time in “High Society”, ensuring that audiences everywhere got a glimpse of it. At the time, it was valued at just over four million dollars. Today, it’s estimated to be worth nearly $39 million, making it one of the most extravagant engagement gifts of all time.
#18: Lady Gaga
One of pop’s biggest superstars deserves an engagement ring that’s every bit as iconic as she is. Luckily, her then-boyfriend Michael Polansky understood the assignment. When he popped the question to Lady Gaga in 2024, he started out with a simple blade of grass encased in resin as a touching gesture. He then whipped out the real one – a 10-carat oval cut gemstone on an 18-karat rose and white gold band. To top it all off, it was adorned with more diamonds, from pink ombré to white. While the exact price isn’t known, some have estimated it to be worth around a million dollars at least. Considering Gaga’s mother predicted their union, we can’t help but wonder if she knew this was coming as well.
#17: Ciara
A player of Russell Wilson’s caliber should propose with something equally as iconic. Luckily for Ciara, he pulled through when he asked for her hand in 2016. The “Goodies” singer was presented with a sparkler complete with a dazzling 16-carat cushion-cut diamond. The centerpiece is surrounded by smaller but no less extravagant stones shaped as trapezoids and pears. The bling is so massive that it practically eclipses her finger, making it clear to anyone in a ten-mile radius that she’s off the market. With all of its elements combined, some jewelers have estimated it to be worth up to $2.5 million — and it's clear to see why. To this day, it’s still one of the most lavish celebrity engagement rings of the modern era.

#16: Cardi B
The “Bad & Boujee” artist seemingly had that title in mind when selecting the jewelry for his 2017 proposal. Although Offset and Cardi B had already secretly married prior to him publicly popping the question, he still went out of his way to get her an engagement ring. When he eventually got down on one knee mid-performance, he did so with a truly dazzling piece. The pear-shaped diamond has eight carats, and you see every single one when the light hits it just right. It’s every bit as gorgeous and glamorous as his bride, making it the perfect fit for her. The rapper reportedly dropped $500,000 for it at the time, and only time will tell how much its value will increase.
#15: Jennifer Aniston
In 2012, fans of the actress were elated to know she’d gotten engaged to then-beau Justin Theroux. The multi-talented entertainer presented her with a ring worthy of Hollywood royalty. Coming in around 9 carats, the rose-cut solitaire diamond was an instant stand-out. The historical shape was created in the 1500s and is modeled after the flower it was named after, looking like it came straight out of a romance story. Its distinct cut also enhances its size, making it seem even larger than it is — although it did that just fine on its own. Some sources have said that Theroux spent around a million acquiring the jewelry. Although they divorced in 2018, the piece is still iconic to this day.
#14: Jessica Biel
Biel caused much speculation by opting not to don her new engagement ring at public appearances for several months after announcing her engagement. But when people finally got a glimpse, it was well worth the wait. According to Biel, she didn’t have any influence over the design of the ring and now-hubby Justin Timberlake did all the work himself. It isn’t that surprising, as Timberlake is undoubtedly one of the most stylish guys in Hollywood. The 18-carat white gold and black rhodium plated ring is flanked by aquamarines, which is Jessica’s birthstone.
#13: Lauren Sánchez Bezos
Given the size of some of the 10-carat rings on this list, one that’s 30 sounds unfathomable. Yet, that’s exactly what Lauren Sánchez was given when Amazon mogul Jeff Bezos proposed to her in 2023. The billionaire proved that money was no question when it came to her, with a 30-carat pink diamond resting atop a comparatively demure four-prong platinum mount. The simplistic base makes the gemstone stand out even more, making it appear to be even more massive. It’s no wonder he’s rumored to have spent a minimum of three million on it, with some sources claiming he spent upwards of five. It was just the beginning of their grandiose nuptials, and set the tone for their eventual multi-million dollar ceremony.
#12: Kate Middleton
With one action, he was able to connect his mother to his bride-to-be in a truly touching way. Although Princess Diana died over a decade before Prince William asked for Kate Middleton’s hand in 2010, he found a way to include her. He passed his mother’s ring down to her, and in turn brought it back to the forefront of the public’s mind. It’s a piece made for royalty, and contains a luxurious 12-carat sapphire that’s encircled in solitaire diamonds. Beyond its sheer opulence, it also fulfilled the criteria of something old, something borrowed, and something blue prior to her wedding. Although its exact current worth is estimated in the 6-figure range, its historical significance makes it truly invaluable.
#11: Angelina Jolie
Brangelina were the proud parents of six children by the time Brad Pitt popped the question – but good things come to those who wait, and this ring was definitely a good one. Brad had his private jeweler - because of course he has a private jeweler - design the unique piece over a period of a year in order to get it just right. The ring is estimated to have cost in the ballpark of $250,000 and features a unique design, with experts estimating that the center diamond is at least 10 carats.
#10: Jennifer Lopez
It may not be the first engagement ring she’s ever received, nor her first from Ben Affleck. Yet, despite all the impressive rocks she’s collected over the years, the one she got from the actor and director in 2022 is by far one of the best. He proposed with a breathtaking 8.5-carat green diamond piece. That specific color is the second rarest in nature, and its sheer size and vivid pigment added to its distinctive nature. As such, it comes as no surprise that it’s believed to be worth at least $5 million. Affleck reportedly chose it due to it being her lucky color, and considering she got to keep it after their 2025 divorce, that definitely seemed to work in her favor.
#9: Taylor Swift
It may be one of the newest pieces featured on this list, but it's already proven to be one of the most luxurious engagement rings of the 2020s so far. Travis Kelce had a hand in designing the band he gave to Taylor Swift in 2025 — which is likely why it's everything she could’ve dreamed of and more. The vintage-inspired piece boasts an old mine-cut diamond rumored to be between seven and ten carats, and was made by a designer beloved by the singer, proving that he has good taste and listens closely to what his bride-to-be has to say. The combined cut and size of the gem is reminiscent of a bygone time, and stands out considerably compared to more modern ones.
#8: Melania Trump
Long before she was first lady, Melania Knauss said yes when then business tycoon Donald Trump popped the question with this tremendous, huge, and big league ring. Trump actually got a deal on the ring – not that billionaire businessman needed it – in exchange for featuring famed jeweler Graff Diamonds, London on “The Apprentice.” Not one to be outdone, even by himself, the Donald gave Melania a 10th anniversary ring that put her original to shame. Ring number two weighed in at 25 carats, compared to the measly 13-15 carats of ring number one.
#7: Beyoncé
No one can be sure if it was just coincidence that Jay Z and Beyoncé tied the knot the same year that “Single Ladies” was released, but either way it looks like he got the message. The two megastars were married on April 4th, 2008 in Jay Z’s New York City apartment in a very small and ultra private ceremony. The singer didn’t show the paparazzi that Jay Z had put a ring on it until months later when she finally debuted the 18-carat emerald cut sparkler. The double-banded design seems necessary to keep that gigantic diamond contained.
#6: Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian clearly knows what she likes. The reality TV star has had not one, not two but THREE very similar engagement rings. The ring she received from Kanye West bears a striking resemblance to the one Kris Humphries gave her when he proposed. Then, after signing a lucrative deal with Adidas, the rapper gave his lady a second engagement ring in a similar style to the first, only bigger. Sadly, Kim’s second ring was one of the several items stolen from her when she was robbed at gunpoint in a Paris hotel in 2016.
#5: Elizabeth Taylor
This Hollywood mainstay was definitely no stranger to beautiful jewelry. Elizabeth Taylor may have married many times, but it was her engagement ring from her third husband Michael Todd that stands out from the pack. Decades before hyper extravagant engagement rings were de rigueur, Taylor set the bar with a nearly 30 carat sparkler in 1957. They just don’t make ‘em like that anymore! Sadly, the marriage wasn’t destined to last long as Todd was killed in a plane crash just a year after their union. Taylor later received a 33.19 carat diamond, formerly the Krupp Diamond, from her fifth husband, actor Richard Burton, although this monster stone was not an engagement ring.
#4: Paris Hilton
While the famous heiress may have retreated from the spotlight in the 2010s, the titanic engagement ring from her brief betrothal will always be remembered. Paris Hilton and Paris Latsis’ engagement may have been brief, but the ring still ended up going to good use. The 24-carat diamond was valued at approximately 4.7 million dollars. Hilton auctioned it off a few months later to support victims of Hurricane Katrina and reportedly received half of the original value of the ring at the sale.
#3: Blake Lively
One of Hollywood’s cutest young couples – Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively – surprised the press when they got married in an unanticipated secret ceremony in South Carolina. The pair hadn’t even announced their engagement, yet alone their nuptials. Before they wed, Reynolds gave his betrothed a huge oval cut diamond set in a rose gold band. Jewelers have speculated that the stone is approximately 12 carats and is likely worth somewhere in the realm of 2 million dollars. As well, though it’s hard to tell in photos, the stone actually has a very subtle pink tint to it.
#2: Anna Kournikova
There are a lot of dramatic rings on our list today, but this one definitely stands out from the pack. Tennis star Anna Kournikova sports this gigantic 11-carat pink diamond that was given to her by Enrique Iglesias. The diamond gets its rosy hue naturally and was mined in the Argyle area of Australia, where the stones often have unique colors like champagne and cognac. There’s no official word on how much the ring costs, but experts price it anywhere between 2.5 and 6 million dollars. Game, set, and unmatchable.
#1: Mariah Carey
And now, we take a look at what is most likely the most expensive celebrity engagement ring to date- and allegedly one of the largest diamonds in the world. Billionaire businessman James Packer gave the singer this 35-carat stunner, which is reportedly worth ten million dollars. Out of the realm of mere mortals, it’s no sweat off Packer’s back though, as the Australian is allegedly worth about 3.5 billion US dollars. The two never married, breaking up in the midst of their engagement but Mariah stated at the end of 2016 that she would be keeping the ring regardless. You do you, Mimi!
