Every Assassin's Creed Unique Armor Ranked
Welcome to MojoPlays, and today we’re counting down our picks for the coolest, most awesome outfits in the Assassin’s Creed franchise! We’ll be looking at a lot of endgame armor and specifically ranking them by how aesthetically pleasing they are!
#12: Napoleon’s Artillery Outfit
“Assassin’s Creed Unity” (2014)
In one of the most hyped up Assassin’s Creed games ever, Ubisoft managed to create a near perfect replica of Paris in videogame form. This was the first game to introduce individual gear slots in the franchise, and it came with some awesome choices for fashion! The “Dead Kings” DLC introduced collectible Napoleon Bicorns, which after collecting 26 would award you with Napoleon’s Artillery outfit. While not providing any gameplay bonuses, it’s undoubtedly the coolest outfit in the game considering its setting, and the ‘devs’ pulled it off so well.
#11: Mayan Armor
“Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag” (2013)
Black Flag is arguably the most universally beloved Assassin’s Creed, they pretty much created the most awesome pirate simulator ever! Players who decide to explore and finish every ‘Mayan Stelae’ puzzle will unlock the Mayan armor, which is briefly introduced and teased relatively early on. Not only is it awesome conceptually, but it comes with the added gameplay benefit of deflecting bullets thanks to its magnetic properties. Closely following the Mayan armor, is actually Shay’s outfit, called “Templar Armor” which you can unlock by finding and using five ‘Templar keys’ in the Great Inagua hideout.
#10: Animal Spirit Armor
“Assassin’s Creed III” (2012)
It might not seem like much now, but this game came with really cool snow physics and tree climbing, which was a first for the franchise! Down the line about a year after the release of the main-game, an episodic DLC slowly rolled out for Assassin’s Creed III called “The Tyranny of King Washington,” a super unique and fun take on Assassin’s Creed. Originally, the Animal Spirit outfit was actually only usable in this DLC, but since AC3’s remaster, it’s been available for use in the main game after completing DNA Sequence 6! This armor is an amazing take on the “Assassin” style!
#9: Milad's Outfit
“Assassin’s Creed Mirage” (2023)
When it comes to Mirage, it’s kinda difficult to choose just one set of armor, considering Ubisoft came back with a bang in terms of the fashion in this game! If you’re an attentive player, you might’ve been exploring and stumbled upon this seemingly random Oasis pretty close to the start of the game! Diving down into the water, players will eventually find a mysterious Isu vault, which holds the armor Milad's Outfit. Collect 5 mysterious shards to unlock the armor, and become a glass-cannon thanks to its special effect, making you take more damage while also dishing out more!
#8: Sir James Gunn Armor
“Assassin's Creed Rogue” (2014)
Okay people, let’s be real! Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is actually the most underrated game in the franchise, and it has some of, if not *the* most awesome outfits of any of the protagonists. Shay might’ve made his own luck, but he didn’t make these crazy fashionable outfits! Sir James Gunn’s armor is more akin to the more traditional versions of Templars that we’ve had in popular media, and it’s obtainable by finding all 20 Templar Crosses across the North Atlantic. Let ‘the father of understanding’ guide you with this new knight templar fashion!
#7: Demigod Armor
“Assassin’s Creed Odyssey” (2018)
It’s not like you’re lacking choice when it comes to Odyssey, as the game comes with roughly a whopping 150 different armor sets! And the Spartan aesthetic is just so awesome. We play as either Kassandra or Alexios, and eventually during our adventures we’ll meet our thought-to-be lost sibling who has been brainwashed into becoming Deimos, by the Cult of Kosmos. As stakes are raised, we eventually have to confront the evil Deimos, and choose their fate. In doing so, we’ll unlock the most stylish Greek-style armor in the game, “The Demigod Set.” And it comes with a pretty healthy boost to each damage type!
#6: Armor of Ishak Pasha
“Assassin's Creed Revelations” (2011)
We already knew Ezio was going to have ‘drip’ when the game trailer came out, having ditched the cape and reverted back to a more traditional Assassin look. And the setting of Constantinople was just so perfect. That’s also a contributing factor to why this outfit looks so good and why it works so well – The Armor of Ishak Pasha not only has a good looking silhouette, but the colors chosen match the location and style of the game perfectly. The armor is obtained through collecting all the memoir pages, and thanks to the bonus effects this might just be one of the most powerful armor sets in the franchise.
#5: Isu Armor
“Assassin’s Creed Origins” (2017)
Origins is chock-full of mysteries and magical realism, and Egypt is just a perfect setting for it to unfold. And it’s fitting then, that the game is full of these mystical stone circles that Bayek will have to stop at, in order to stargaze. Players will have to complete all 12 Stone Circles in the game, to unlock a secret tomb perfectly hidden underneath a Sphinx. Simply go to the back of the Sphinx and slide through a tiny hole in the statue. Eventually, you’ll reach the astrology chamber where you may unlock the Isu armor of “AC Origins.”
#4: Thor’s Armor
“Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” (2020)
In 2020, we got possibly the longest and most dense Assassin’s Creed game to date, being the second one to take place in England; but this time, we’re a Viking. Similar to Origins, there is a mystical feeling at all times in Valhalla, partially thanks to the sound design and the music. Vikings were of course very close to their gods, such as Thor and Odin, which just makes the fact that you can obtain Thor’s armor even cooler. It’s not as complicated to get, but it requires you to battle some pretty difficult optional bosses! These are ‘the daughters of Lerion’ and beating them will award you pieces of the armor. And lastly, taking out all order members will reward you with Thor’s Cape.
#3: Aegis Outfit
“Assassin’s Creed Syndicate” (2015)
Jumping a thousand years into the future from the time of Valhalla, we’re now in a more developed and industrial Victorian London. It’s actually pretty cool to have both AC Syndicate, and AC Valhalla! If you’ve paid attention or played the previous games, you know the precursor, or Isu, known as Minerva. Well, her combat armor and cloak can be obtained by Evie if you complete all Secrets of London and place the discs you get in Michel Reuge’s vault! But you also need the schematic for it, which you’ll get by progressing the story.
#2: Armor of Brutus
“Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood” (2010)
Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood has us playing as Ezio in his prime years, in a politically corrupt Rome. Players will slowly fight to free Rome from the grip of the Borgias, and starts immediately where Assassin’s Creed II left off. In the midst of liberating and also renovating the city itself, players will encounter secret underground locations known as Lairs of Romulus. If you take the time to complete all these lairs, you will be rewarded with the ‘Armor of Brutus.’ Apparently Brutus was a Hidden One!
#1: Armor of Altair
“Assassin’s Creed II” (2009)
Assassin’s Creed II was the first of the games to feature customization, in the form of armors. You play as a young Ezio, as he becomes and develops as an Assassin of the Brotherhood. Eventually along your journey, you’re going to have to repair your armor, unless you’re just THAT good! Which brings us to the ‘Armor of Altair,’ which not only had the maximum armor rating, but was unbreakable, meaning you never had to repair it! And it being a relic from the ‘goat’ himself Altair is just so cool. You get this armor by completing all 6 Assassin Tombs and getting it in the villa.
There’s a lot of really awesome customization options in Assassin’s Creed, but which outfit was your favorite? Tell us below if we missed something, and let’s rank them together in the comments!
