Howard Lutnick

Sometimes the receipts tell a different story. U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick had repeatedly claimed he cut ties with Jeffrey Epstein after a 2005 visit to Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse, saying the encounter left him so uncomfortable that he vowed he would “never be in the room with that disgusting person ever again.” However, documents released in the Epstein files say otherwise. During a 2026 Senate hearing, Lutnick acknowledged that in December 2012 - four years after Epstein’s conviction - he visited his private island. According to his testimony, he arrived with his wife, four children, their nannies, and another family with children - spending roughly an hour having lunch with Jeffrey. This, of course, voids Lutnick’s earlier public claim that he had completely severed contact after 2005.

Naomi Campbell

Epstein’s celebrity circle was vast, but not everyone has been forthcoming about their place in it. This includes supermodel Naomi Campbell, who consistently denied having any meaningful relationship with Epstein, insisting she met him only socially. However, the 2026 DOJ files show her appearing hundreds of times. This included communications about her flights on Epstein’s private jet, invitations to high-profile social events, and even coordinating appearances with other celebrities. Notably, some exchanges occurred after Epstein’s 2008 conviction. Still, Campbell’s representatives insist she was unaware of his crimes and claim she attended events only as a public figure.

Larry Summers

Even some of the world’s top economists couldn’t quite explain away their ties to Epstein. Former U.S. Treasury Secretary, economist, and ex-Harvard University president Larry Summers has repeatedly downplayed his relationship with the disgraced financier, describing it as limited and largely professional. However, newly released correspondence paints a more involved picture. Emails show Summers communicating with Epstein on multiple occasions, some personal and some for fundraising – many times years after Epstein’s 2008 conviction. Additional messages reveal Epstein sending Summers unsolicited notes, occasionally including inappropriate remarks. When the full scope of the correspondence became public, Summers expressed regret for maintaining contact, stepped down from the board of OpenAI, and announced plans to retire from teaching.

Crown Princess Mette‑Marit

It turns out European royalty was very much part of Jeffrey Epstein’s orbit. Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway initially maintained that her interactions with Epstein were sparse and that she had distanced herself from him once concerns about his conduct became clear. But, documents later made public showed their contact extended longer than previously understood. Her name is mentioned over a thousand times in the documents, indicating sustained contact. Emails include friendly and informal correspondence between the two, and other reporting indicates she stayed at Epstein’s Palm Beach property for several days in 2013 when he was not present. These revelations contrast sharply with her earlier statements saying that she had cut off contact sooner.

David Copperfield

Some of Epstein’s closest social contacts were household names in entertainment – not that they want to admit it. Illusionist David Copperfield originally described his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein as casual and fleeting. Yet, files from Epstein’s archives tell a different story. Copperfield appears in handwritten message logs alongside photographs showing him with Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell at private events. Scheduling notes indicate he visited Epstein’s properties multiple times, sometimes coordinating logistics for performances or private gatherings. While there is no evidence linking Copperfield to Epstein’s criminal acts, these documents surely contradict his claims of incidental contact.

Steven Tisch

Film producer and New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch has previously said his interactions with Jeffrey Epstein were brief – adding that they were mostly limited to emails about movies and investments. He also said that he never visited Epstein’s private island. However, the US government’s released documents show it was anything but brief. Tisch appears in over 400 emails from 2013 alone - with Epstein arranging meetings, social introductions, and even adult-themed encounters. While Tisch denies any wrongdoing and maintains he was unaware of Epstein’s crimes, the sheer volume and content of the correspondence show a more sustained involvement than his public statements suggested.

Richard Branson

The billionaire lifestyle couldn’t fully insulate Branson from Epstein’s world. Yep, the Virgin Group founder had insisted that his interactions with Jeffrey Epstein were professional or confined to group social settings. However, released emails from September 2013 reveal Branson corresponding directly with Epstein. They discussed travel plans, mutual acquaintances, and even made lighthearted references to adult staff members - exchanges that went beyond casual introductions. Epstein also extended multiple invitations to his private properties. While Branson still maintains he cut ties after learning of Epstein’s convictions, these documents contradict his earlier claims of purely incidental contact - showing a more substantial familiarity and an alleged willingness to engage.

Peter Mandelson

Lots of seasoned politicians found themselves drawn into Epstein’s network – including Peter Mandelson. The British politician has long portrayed his connection to Jeffrey Epstein as purely social and professional, insisting he was unaware of any criminal behavior. However, a more personal and sustained correspondence has since been discovered. The documents include birthday greetings, personal letters, and financial exchanges. Some indicate that Mandelson may have allegedly shared sensitive economic or political information with Epstein. While Mandelson continues to deny any knowledge of Epstein’s crimes, the depth and frequency of their communications shows a far closer relationship than his public statements let on.

Elon Musk

Tech billionaire Elon Musk has been very vocal about never attending Jeffrey Epstein’s parties or visiting his island. He insists his interactions were minimal and ultimately rejected. Still, the newly released DOJ files show multiple email exchanges between Musk and Epstein from 2012 to 2014, where Epstein inquires about Musk’s travel plans. In one exchange, Musk asked Epstein, “What day/night will be the wildest party on your island?” He later inquired about the best time to visit during his Caribbean trip, to which Epstein replied with logistics and dates. While there’s no evidence Musk ever actually went to the island, the correspondence shows a more reciprocal dialogue than he previously admitted.

Donald Trump

Some of the most debated contradictions about Epstein involve the sitting U.S. president. Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed he had little to do with Epstein and had a falling‑out with him. However, records show Trump socialized with Jeffrey in the 1990s and early 2000s. Trump has also given varying reasons for their split - at times saying it was over a real estate dispute, and at others claiming Epstein’s unseemly behaviour at Mar-a-Lago got him expelled. However, third‑party accounts show that Epstein remained a Mar‑a‑Lago member until 2007. Also, according to a 2019 FBI interview summary, Trump allegedly contacted Michael Reiter, the former Palm Beach police chief, in July 2006 - just weeks after Epstein faced state charges – and said “Everyone has known he’s been doing this.” Yet, Trump claims he had no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities prior to widespread media coverage.
