VOICE OVER: Rebecca Brayton WRITTEN BY: Francesca LaMantia
These are the celeb friendships we'd like to be enemies on screen! For this list we'll be looking at celebrity besties, who've only ever played friends on screen, or have never appeared in a movie together, that we want to see face off as enemies on-screen. We've included real life bffs like Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz, Busy Phillips and Michelle Williams, Nicole Kidman and Naomi Watts and more!

#9: Busy Philipps & Michelle Williams

Top 10 Memorable Busy Philipps Moments

Their friendship on “Dawson’s Creek” developed into a real life one. And yet, their only other screen time together is when Williams guest starred on “Cougar Town.” Their characters Audrey and Jen were known for stirring up a little trouble on the Creek, which apparently spilled over into their off-screen friendship. In a “Dawson’s Creek” reunion interview, Philipps commented about defending Williams in a bar fight, and said their shared rambunctious natures is part of what makes them such good friends. Everyone that grew up watching “Dawson's Creek” would probably be thrilled to see an adversarial reunion between Philipps and Williams.

#8: Drew Barrymore & Cameron Diaz

The Tragic Life of Drew Barrymore

Surprisingly, these two actresses didn't meet in the business. They were teenagers, and just happened to know each other from around town. But when they starred in “Charlie’s Angels” together, their bond was solidified for good. Publically praising each other’s work and maintaining a close bond even when the cameras aren’t rolling, these two are basically the definition of friendship goals. It might actually be difficult to see a friendship this pure be twisted into a rivalry on-screen, but that’s probably what would also make it awesome, especially since both know how to kick ass.

#7: Nicole Kidman & Naomi Watts

Speaking of long-lasting friendships, these two go all the way back to high school. But they haven't been in a movie together since they both appeared in 1991’s “Flirting.” Though they attend each other’s premieres and awards ceremonies together, and their Instagram game is on point, that’s the most time they spend on screen. It sounds to us like a reunion is long overdue. Kidman and Watts have even stated that they have been looking for a project to work on together. They’re already friends in real life, so why not make things interesting and face off as enemies on-screen?

#6: Tobey Maguire & Leonardo DiCaprio

Yet another lifelong friendship, these two have been best buddies since they were little kids going on their first auditions. Having grown up in the industry together, they’ve shared the screen a few times, they’ve both played their fair share of heroes and villains, and they’ve even competed for roles. But the closest we’ve ever gotten to seeing that friendly rivalry manifest itself on-screen is when they co-starred in the 2013 film, “The Great Gatsby.” And while they weren’t exactly besties in “Gatsby,” they weren’t enemies either. We’d like to see what happens if these two were to really go at it.

#5: Courteney Cox & Jennifer Aniston

Who wouldn't want to see Rachel and Monica duke it out? After meeting on the appropriately named sitcom, “Friends,” these two became, you guessed it, friends. After the series ended, they continued their on-screen friendship with Aniston guest starring in Cox’s show, “Cougar Town,” as well as her short-lived show, “Dirt.” Their real-life friendship has blossomed as well, and Courteney Cox was even Jennifer Aniston’s maid of honor. They’ve been in some pretty hilarious fights together on “Friends”, so it would be truly exciting to see the hilarity that would ensue if these two comedic actors were to be pitted against each other.

#4: Jimmy Fallon & Justin Timberlake

This boy band singer turned actor and comedian turned talk show host have become the best of friends over the years. They even proved the legendary bond by playing the best friends game on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Apparently, Timberlake does things for Fallon that even his wife won’t do and they immortalized their bromance in goofy gifts with each other’s faces on them. But we want to see these two bros use their comedic chops to face off against one other. A lip sync battle would naturally be involved.

#3: Dwayne Johnson & Kevin Hart

This hilarious dynamic duo has been in a few comedic movies together and have killed it playing friends. So, it’s a safe bet that seeing them together as enemies would only up the hysterics, especially if they have to fight. We got to see a little preview with their fight in “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle,” so can you even imagine how awesome it would be seeing these two at each other’s throats for a whole movie? Watching the petite Kevin Hart go up against the gargantuan Dwayne Johnson would be absolutely epic.

#2: Emma Stone & Jennifer Lawrence

Both of these Oscar-winning actresses have proven their comedic chops, as well as their dramatic talents, so we’re not even sure which we’d like to see more: a funny rivalry or a serious adversarial relationship. Frankly, we’d just like to see these two besties together, as they’ve yet to appear in the same movie. But in spite of never meeting on-screen, they connected through mutual friend Woody Harrelson, and a mutual stalker. It would really be something to see these two Hollywood darlings appear on-screen together for the first time as enemies.

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions:

Matt Damon & Ben Affleck

Kate Winslet & Reese Witherspoon

#1: George Clooney & Brad Pitt

If you’ve ever seen “Ocean’s Eleven,” you already know it’s great fun seeing these two play partners in crime. Now just imagine if Danny and Rusty turned on each other. Apparently, in real life, these two enjoy a friendly rivalry in the form of a ruthless prank war. So, it wouldn’t be too far of a stretch to imagine these two being on-screen rivals. Seeing these two titans of the industry team up yet again as enemies wouldn’t just be epic, it would be a clash of the titans.
