Born March 14th, 1933 in Chicago, Illinois, Quincy Jones started playing trumpet in elementary. He soon started touring with a popular band and arranging songs for other artists until he was given the chance to lead his own jazz band. After its demise, Jones began working at a record label, though he continued to release albums on his own and found much success scoring scoring music for movies.
