This could either be a homage to the telltale games, or even a live-action remake. Half the fun with zombie apocalypse stories is imagining how you'd be in that situation.

Like black mirror, American horror story has the freedom of not being boxed into a larger narrative, instead having unique stories each season. With Ryan Murphy taking his talents to Netflix, could we see a new horror story that we directly influence in a special episode?

Supernatural has had tons of weird and out of genre episodes, even going so far as having them show up in an episode of Scooby-Doo. A choose your own adventure wouldn't be far fetched and would be a lot of fun seeing the characters interacting with the audience in this way. Could easily be explained as a new supernatural phenomena

It could be a bit refreshing being able to go down different paths. This is why parallel universes became such a hit. With this you could decide priorities based on how you feel.
