General rule of thumb for Pokemon: Just don't be obvious about it in competitive play. No mismatched movesets, no starter pokemon in masterballs, etc., etc.

BioWare has also since acknowledged DA2 to be pretty crappy, so much that they even have given out tutorials for how to create a save file for Inquisition.

Nobody needs to know that you always save right after starting, activate cheat mode, and choose to reveal the full map before deciding if you want to load your save game or start a new one.

Is it really "cheating" if you play a custom campaign with a lot of cool gear to be found, save your character after acquiring it, then play the normal campaign with said gear?

The game bills itself as an open-ended 'do anything' game, but depleting need bars cause it to rapidly devolve into a routine builder. You can't blame anyone for using the Rosebud cheat so they can do the stuff they actually want to in The Sims.
