For so long, there have been people denying the very existence of the snydercut, and up until Zack Snyder himself confirmed it. Even after, people just went to saying wb won't release it, and some even going so far as to say they upright threw it away. So imagine what would happen when it finally does get released.

Warner Bros hasn't done right by the fans, DC, the Justice League cast & crew, but above all else, Zack Snyder. WB hired Zack to start the DCEU and when everything went wrong with justice league, they let him take all the blame thus potentially damaging his reputation. One message that sends to directors everywhere is take their talent to a studio

Justice League generated a fair amount of hype before the movie's release. So imagine how underwhelming it was to see that much the trailer footage didn't make it into the actual film.

As we all know, Zack Snyder stepped away from the film before it was completed to deal with a death in the family. If WB has taught us anything from other works such as the Richard Donner cut of Superman or The Iron Giant, it's that they will eventually release Zack's cut of Justice League anyway-so they might as well do it now when everyone is asking for it.
