I'll admit that I don't care to much for the post-Sondheim musical numbers, and that there is plenty of logical disregard, lame plot twists, and underwhelming character motivations, but there is no question that this film is a cultural landmark.

An excellent classical exercise in filmmaking that reminds us that films can capture dreams. Boasts a magnificently paced story, mesmerizing visuals, fleshed out characters, compelling mythology, and an iconic musical score by John Powell.

A sequel that dares to expand it's universe by leaps and bounds. Has greater emotional gravitas, outstandingly beautiful animation, and higher stakes than the first movie.
