The show had generic story of "villains does this, the heroes has to stop it" with anti-pollution concept.......in a show that has cars in it. This is so bad it even get parodied in the form of "Gekisou Sentai Carranger"
Due to low ratings and very low toy sales, this season was considered to be the show that almost kill the franchise.

Sun Vulcan was serve as a direct sequel to the previous show Denshi Sentai Denziman. But so much potential were wasted with the plans of Denziman team appear for a five episode arc was never happen, except for the returning villain of Denziman Queen Hedorian. This series was marked the 20th anniversary of Super Sentai, so it was planned to be a dark and serious season. But reality occurred when Japan was struck by terrorist and earthquake attack, forcing the writers of Ohranger to rewrite the scripts from alternating the serious and light-hearted tone of the show to boosting more toy sales.
First sentai to have 5 individual mechs for the team. The show revolves around training til breaking point to unleash aura power, redemption and love, hence, 'soldier of love'.
